"i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:24 (fifteen years ago)

ps: last time I was in Ararat was when I was 12, on the way to school camp in the Grampians (was living in Bendigo at the time you see)

"i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:25 (fifteen years ago)

an ex of mine (from '93) lived in bendigo. went there to visit. haven't been back since.

get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:26 (fifteen years ago)

always used to confuse it with ballarat

racist of the falling leaves (haitch), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:27 (fifteen years ago)

ballarat is its dull but better dressed bigger sister

get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:28 (fifteen years ago)

Farmer David Powne is out of pocket by about $20,000 for hire of his paddock and associated earthworks. Like many businesses The Age spoke to, he was paid half initially, with the promise of the rest at festival's end.

Tristan Gray even wrote a cheque for the outstanding amount, but when Mr Powne attempted to cash it, it bounced.

Mr Powned

RAPTOBER (sic), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:31 (fifteen years ago)

Ballarat is even lamer and duller, at least Bendigo has a charming weird lurking-serial-killers-in-the-night vibe.

"i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:35 (fifteen years ago)

In any case, these days I only seem to visit Bendigo whenever a family member dies.

"i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:35 (fifteen years ago)

am going there for $mas this year

racist of the falling leaves (haitch), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:38 (fifteen years ago)

get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:47 (fifteen years ago)

an ex of mine (from '93) lived in bendigo. went there to visit. haven't been back since.

I misread this as "hasn't been seen since".

those shallow bush graves on the Calder are a bit misleading

"i find your antics mirthful and infectious" (King Boy Pato), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:51 (fifteen years ago)

Never been there mself, and the last time I was in Ballarat the lake still had water in it.

I wonder if you can freak out young ballaratians with "omg WE HAD A LAKE HERE ONCE!?" or something.

there used to be boat races and everything. it was the best day of the school year.

get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:56 (fifteen years ago)

the only better day was the swimming carnival (chix in cossies)

get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 05:57 (fifteen years ago)

I hated swimming carnival day. I can't swim, but they'd force everyone to go in SOMETHING, "oh go on, be a sport, you can do it!" and it was always way too cold because Canberra's summer is weird and short and everyone was a cruel bogan and I always got sunburned.

I came 4th place in a 100m dash at the athletics day once tho.

There were only 4 people in the race, but you know.

lool

i was a pretty good swimmer, but i've always had a pot belly. now i am too unfit.

get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 06:01 (fifteen years ago)

I'm too afeared of water in the ears. I used to love being in the pool or the surf but I was never a good swimmer at all.

I was bloody good at gymnastics and rollerskating tho, til I got the Fear and stopped in about yr 10.

i went swimming a coupla times @ the brunswicky pool

i had to relegate myself from the slow lane to 'aqua play' ;__;

racist of the falling leaves (haitch), Thursday, 15 October 2009 06:07 (fifteen years ago)

(last summer)

racist of the falling leaves (haitch), Thursday, 15 October 2009 06:09 (fifteen years ago)

when you cried in the aqua play section did you deny it and blame your red eyes on the chlorine.

estela, Thursday, 15 October 2009 06:12 (fifteen years ago)

get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 22:13 (fifteen years ago)

I'm depressed too, though I cant entirely blame the heap of wine I drank last night.

Holiday Sidewinder is from Bridezilla and the daughter of Loene Carmen and the granddaughter of Peter Head

RAPTOBER (sic), Thursday, 15 October 2009 22:18 (fifteen years ago)

provenance!

get up and use(rna)me (electricsound), Thursday, 15 October 2009 22:19 (fifteen years ago)

Not a word of that meant anything to me.

Sydney innit

Peter Head is old jazz pianner/singing dude from the ‘60s
Loene Carmen is smoky-voiced indie singer-songwriter chick from the ‘00s, previously actress (was in Year My Voice Broke, played Sallie-Anne Huckstepp in Blue Murder), sang on those Mick Harvey albums of Gainsbourg covers, has country bands, etc etc
Bridezilla are an up-and-coming teenage indie group who get played on young persons’ radio
