I'm proud of taking your jobs.

threesome dude (The Reverend), Saturday, 17 October 2009 21:31 (fourteen years ago) link

Gloat if you like. You earned the right to. Jobs are hard to find now.

My nissan had an alternator die on thursday night, and i got the thing as far as the garage two blocks away! So i'm car-less(again) assuming they get the part in on tuesday...

in better news, they're showing a Gordon Liu kung-fu flick tonight at the Hollywood at 7:30!

kingfish, Saturday, 17 October 2009 23:14 (fourteen years ago) link

My parents brought a bunch of stuff down, so now I have a bike, stereo, dresser, musical instruments, among other things. We had lunch at the Thai Peacock and explored Powells. Luckily the weather decided to clear up for us.

threesome dude (The Reverend), Sunday, 18 October 2009 02:45 (fourteen years ago) link

Kingfish, do you live in the Hollywood area? That's where my new office is.

threesome dude (The Reverend), Sunday, 18 October 2009 02:47 (fourteen years ago) link

i live about 1.5 miles NW of it, just south of MLK park.

kingfish, Sunday, 18 October 2009 05:44 (fourteen years ago) link

See Reverend? Things work out here. It's awesome :)

phil-two, Sunday, 18 October 2009 11:17 (fourteen years ago) link

lol

my budget right now is more like top ramen at le home

threesome dude (The Reverend), Sunday, 18 October 2009 19:28 (fourteen years ago) link

Food stamps man. Then you can be like me and buy nice cheeses and peppered salamis and organic produce.

Nate Carson, Sunday, 18 October 2009 21:27 (fourteen years ago) link

Naw, I'm eatin' a little bit better than that, but still very much on the cheap. More like pickin' up Colby instead of Cheddar because it's 2.20 for half a pound rather than 2.50 is where I am. No matter, money should start rollin in by the beginning of November.

threesome dude (The Reverend), Sunday, 18 October 2009 21:46 (fourteen years ago) link

I had a great time in Portland this weekend:

Laurelhurst Market was delicious as was my second visit to Le Pigeon. The PSU farmers market is incredible and the Applefest had more apples than I'd ever heard of. Also, I got absolutely drenched on Saturday afternoon but at least it was never cold.

Avoid Beaker and Flask, though. Ugh.

I just want to rep again for Vintage on 79th and SE Stark. That's a cool (tiny) cocktail bar. vintagepdx.com

Nate Carson, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 11:21 (fourteen years ago) link

In that case, I'll rep again for The Country Cat next door. I'm addicted to this place. Dinner is a bit spendy, but their brunch menu is reasonable.

Darin, I figured you guys would never go back after you ate that deep-fried head cheese and thought it was a hush puppy.

righteousmaelstrom, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 17:50 (fourteen years ago) link

The deep-fried head cheese is great, btw.

Dang, is it cold.

Clay, Monday, 7 December 2009 18:59 (fourteen years ago) link

Hooray for subfreezing temps. I got a cold from Saturday's santacon event, and the weather since hasn't helped.

kingfish, Monday, 7 December 2009 19:04 (fourteen years ago) link

29ยบ in seattle right now! sheesh, they told me seattle was moderate!

tehresa, Monday, 7 December 2009 19:07 (fourteen years ago) link

I wish I had a thermometer so I could confirm that it is about 40 degrees in my apartment atm.

Clay, Monday, 7 December 2009 19:12 (fourteen years ago) link

the rooms in my house other than my bedroom are completely uninhabitable

only mod can judge me (The Reverend), Monday, 7 December 2009 19:15 (fourteen years ago) link

haha the thermostat (only tells me deg in increments of 5) was btw 55 and 60 when i woke up this morning (heat off all night but some sun coming in the window!).

tehresa, Monday, 7 December 2009 19:16 (fourteen years ago) link

if I turned my heat off while I was asleep I would surely perish.

Clay, Monday, 7 December 2009 19:17 (fourteen years ago) link

36mph wind gusts are a special kind of bullshit

ENERGY FOOD (en i see kay), Monday, 7 December 2009 19:55 (fourteen years ago) link

Heat is out in our office and it's freezing! I can barely type.

Darin, Monday, 7 December 2009 19:58 (fourteen years ago) link

No space heater. No heater heater. Basement bedroom is brrrr.

"I get through more mojitos.." (bear, bear, bear), Monday, 7 December 2009 22:18 (fourteen years ago) link

That reminds me. I'm hosting a special Christmas Edition of Jeremy's Cleverly Titled British TeeVee Night at the Low Brow next week. Tuesday, 12/15, 6pm on.

kingfish, Tuesday, 8 December 2009 01:13 (fourteen years ago) link

sleeve, Tuesday, 8 December 2009 01:14 (fourteen years ago) link

walked the 6 blocks from the max to my house with groceries (i.e. I couldn't tuck my hands into pockets) and my fingers were completely stiff by the time I reached my door

only mod can judge me (The Reverend), Tuesday, 8 December 2009 03:59 (fourteen years ago) link

Get yourself some gloves, Rev!

Clay, Tuesday, 8 December 2009 04:12 (fourteen years ago) link

While I was able to bike around during the heat wave, I don't think I can tolerate biking in this.

kingfish, Tuesday, 8 December 2009 04:33 (fourteen years ago) link

tonight! 6pm at the Low Brow downtown!

kingfish, Wednesday, 16 December 2009 00:02 (fourteen years ago) link

snowing imo

Clay, Tuesday, 29 December 2009 23:21 (fourteen years ago) link

The snow's piling up here, just south of P-town. Today's offical forecast: afternoon rain and a high temp of 40.

Aimless, Tuesday, 29 December 2009 23:32 (fourteen years ago) link

Took me 1.5 hours to get back to NE from the Lego Store at Wash SQ.

Currently on a way-off-course #9 bus heading south on MLK, which is cool since it will take me straight by the Low Brow.

kingfish, Wednesday, 30 December 2009 01:33 (fourteen years ago) link

Rev -- best place to get affordable gloves (assuming you boycot Walmart) is Andy & Bax. It's the army surplus store next to the delicious Nicholas Restaurant down on SE MLK. Go!

Nate Carson, Wednesday, 30 December 2009 04:37 (fourteen years ago) link

Also, people in this town need to learn how to drive in snow, or stay home. I had to do a lot of illegal passing to get to my house because all these stooges were stuck on a hill. Stay home retards!

Nate Carson, Wednesday, 30 December 2009 04:38 (fourteen years ago) link

Stomping home thru this shit whilst listening to Neu '75 is an interesting experience, one I haven't had in years since living in Ann Arbor

kingfish, Wednesday, 30 December 2009 06:25 (fourteen years ago) link

Already bought gloves $3 at the Portland Closeout down the street.

art crut (The Reverend), Wednesday, 30 December 2009 06:57 (fourteen years ago) link
