Jim: I think they'll be doing OG hitz as well if the moshtix blurb is anything to go on: "Playing all their hits from albums such as Leaves Me Blind and Dream It Down this will be a night not to miss."

One of my Canby friends is having conniptives that I'm going to this.

I am seeing the Undies at Homiebake. That plus Tumbleweed on the same day made ticket purchase a no-brainer. Undies were great back in April at The Toff, although it took them a while to warm up. Played all the "hitz" too.

We have enbalkaned ourselves. Perhaps we should have an open day once a year for non-Australians or something.

as i told jergz when he was here, i plan on touring the world of balkanized threads by restricting myself to posting on each of them for a few days at a time

NOTES ON THE ALBUM REISSUES, by Vince Giarrusso

Get to Notice
Recorded in Simon Grounds’ home studio. We were concentrating on songs and song structure and getting used to the studio process. The overall sound is a collaboration between the band and Simon Grounds’ excellent acoustic/electric aesthetic, recalling early David Bowie and the Kinks.

Rushall Station
Recorded at Hothouse Studios St Kilda after Leaves Me Blind and Dream It Down. I always considered this ‘second’ first album after a lot of shit went down with a major shake up in the band, and getting out of a major label contract. Again the focus was on songs and song structure which parallel with Get to Notice. The sound of the record is a collaboration between the band and the producer Wayne Connolly, but moving away from the lush over dubs of the previous two albums concentrating on capturing a live, almost acoustic sound. My favourite track is ‘Undone’.

Whitey Trickster by GBVG
A home studio recording. A collaboration between Glenn, myself and Sonic Animation. We would provide the songs, lyrics and melodies and the Sonic Animation boys would arrange and set up the rhythm tracks. From there it was a collaboration on arrangement and structure. The album was structured as a journey into the night. My favourite track is ‘Quello Che Voi’.

Ways T'Burn
Recorded at Birdland Studios with Mikey Alonso and Lindsay Gravina. A loose collection of songs reflecting what was going on at the time, referencing electronica , drum ‘n’ bass, the blues and rock. Our most experimental record, and my favourite. The artwork is by Matthew Robertson and Cailan.

Cold Feeling
Recorded at Birdland Studios with Mikey Alonso after pre production at the Sonic Animation studios where we layered rhythms and beats. A difficult album to structure as we had two mega tunes as bookends . ‘Put Me in Your Movie’ is my favourite track. Merida Sussex (The Paradise Motel) does a great vocal. The artwork is by Matthew Robertson and Cailan.

Evil Underground Lovers 94-97
A compilation of live tracks sourced from gigs during 94-97 initially to be sold only at gigs.
