xp: oh lol jergins told you about that party? it was great but CL was a fucking pill.

i went to school with grunge documentarian ch4rles p3terson, we weren't tight but the overlap in our venn diagram was pretty big, so we ended up at the same places a lot.

that's all i got.

lxy, Wednesday, 18 November 2009 03:15 (fifteen years ago) link

well, there's also the fact that if you didn't know 17 girls who were dating grunge band boys, you were probably housebound.

lxy, Wednesday, 18 November 2009 03:16 (fifteen years ago) link

estela, Thursday, 19 November 2009 22:24 (fourteen years ago) link

Made satay chicken skewers on my eleccky bbq grill out in the yard last night, and we (me R and N) all sat round with beers and poked at the bbq, it was the blokiest lols ever.

I wish my fecking wading pool would hurry up and get to me.

hulk would smash (Trayce), Thursday, 19 November 2009 22:40 (fourteen years ago) link

i love it that you're getting a wading pool.

estela, Thursday, 19 November 2009 22:41 (fourteen years ago) link

i made some experimental trout & eggplant thing last night. tasted ok in spite of itself

indie spare (electricsound), Thursday, 19 November 2009 22:45 (fourteen years ago) link

I dont think Ive ever had trout! I get the impression it's a unique tasting fish - earthy?

hulk would smash (Trayce), Thursday, 19 November 2009 22:48 (fourteen years ago) link

where did you catch the experimental trout

BARRY ROUBAIX (haitch), Friday, 20 November 2009 01:35 (fourteen years ago) link

he cooked it over a bunsen burner.

estela, Friday, 20 November 2009 01:40 (fourteen years ago) link

slowly turning it over with laboratory tongs

BARRY ROUBAIX (haitch), Friday, 20 November 2009 01:47 (fourteen years ago) link

LOL

Have just also realised ocean and river trout two completely diff things. Ocean trout is like salmon.

I teach little hands-on workshops for the intro to biology course at the university here. The one I taught this week is about human population growth, and the students choose a country to research. I thought I wld share with you guys that the four semesters I have done this, every time at least a third of each class chooses Australia. Consistently stated reasons include it being "cool," "interesting," "an island," and having "kangaroos." American biology students love your country.

mascara and ties (Abbott), Friday, 20 November 2009 02:15 (fourteen years ago) link

You should focus on how much ppl here are whining that out population is expanding too rapidly!

hulk would smash (Trayce), Friday, 20 November 2009 02:16 (fourteen years ago) link

Population growth rate:
Field info displayed for all countries in alpha order.
1.195% (2009 est.)
country comparison to the world: 112

mascara and ties (Abbott), Friday, 20 November 2009 02:20 (fourteen years ago) link

Is any country happy with its growth rate?

mascara and ties (Abbott), Friday, 20 November 2009 02:21 (fourteen years ago) link

Yeah its not like we really do have a massive influx - the media are distorting things a bit. That said, we do have a very high influx of skilled migration and international students in recent years - to melb and syd anyway. And the problem too here is there is very very little arable land with water access. Hence people wailing about how we're going to run out of water and whatnot. Which considering Melbournes water supply is currently at 35% or something is kind of understandable.

But ugghhh if one more person says "fuck off we're full" I'll punch them in the nads.

hulk would smash (Trayce), Friday, 20 November 2009 02:27 (fourteen years ago) link

<3 it or leave it imo

wilter, Friday, 20 November 2009 02:28 (fourteen years ago) link

only utes have that sticker

wilter, Friday, 20 November 2009 02:29 (fourteen years ago) link

once the baby boomers start dying off and freeing up housing stocks we'll be ok, imo

BARRY ROUBAIX (haitch), Friday, 20 November 2009 02:32 (fourteen years ago) link

It always kills me when you see someone who moved here from OS themselves going "GTFO" to someone else, I mean what the hell?
