This Tuesday is a new Jeremy's Cleverly Titled British TV Night! We're going to be at the Alberta St Pub on NE Alberta, bet/w 10th & 11th. We'll be there on June 8th, between 6 and 8pm. It's free!

Come on out!

Don Homer (kingfish), Monday, 7 June 2010 06:07 (fourteen years ago) link

For anybody around this evening, I'm holding a salon of sorts at my house, featuring 40'z, my front porch, and the 1980 epic "Flash Gordon". We'll be starting at 8pm until whenever.

NE 6th & Prescott.

um, is there any portlander that wants to put an ilxor up on sat. night, coming into town on sat for a couple days and just realised that all the hostels are booked out that night. here is a rec. from the last guy i stayed w/ just fyi:

"Ti4rnĂ¡n was a pleasure to host. He's friendly, thoughtful, and easy-going. Very unobtrusive. I enjoyed chatting with him about art, history, social theory, and everything inbetween. (He also introduced me to Autotune the News - it's a whole new world!) I heartily recommend hosting this guy."

further references available on request.

not sure how open it is right now but when I was up in portland w/ no place to stay I found that good samaritan hospital's nursing school (it's operated by linfield college) has these huge rooms (that you can prob. get to yourself) they rent out when they're unfilled for about ten to twenty bucks a night

I would but fuuuuuuck afaict I'm going to be homeless by then.

The Reverend, Friday, 8 October 2010 05:30 (thirteen years ago) link

If I was living in my old place, sure, but I have no crashspace in the newer joint. There are multiple hostels here, tho.

no you're right being a former trailblazer is a sufficient resume to running a state

Darin, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 16:30 (thirteen years ago) link

anyway I think there's still something like 75% of pdx's vote to be counted so that ought to put him out of his misery

Darin, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 16:31 (thirteen years ago) link

i wasn't referring to the governor thing. i just wondered if locals get sick of seeing a lolhueg billboard of their perpetually injured star rookie pick

am0n, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 16:33 (thirteen years ago) link

oh yeah, sorry - that dude's been benched for what 4 years now?

Darin, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 16:37 (thirteen years ago) link

3. he should've done a write-in campaign!

Shades of Sam Bowie. Is Oden a restricted free agent yet or does he have to wait until the end of the season?

THANK FUCKING GOD

(I did not know this).

Defazio beat off an insane Tea Party challenger in the 4th House district. Art Robinson, the GOP guy, had millions of out of state money. It was closer than I would have liked, but looks solid now.

Bummer about Measure 73 passing. Prisons not schools, yeah, sounds great.

sleeve, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:51 (thirteen years ago) link

Oh shit, Art Robinson.

Thank God I won't have this distressing visage staring down at me from a billboard anymore.

christ a Journey medley (reddening), Wednesday, 3 November 2010 19:31 (thirteen years ago) link

Some master Photoshopper put that image on a blue billboard near my house, so he looms down like a sort of enormous grim hunchback.

I went to Tim & Eric at the Roseland last night. Seeing Dr Steve Brule in person made it all worthwhile. Kept checking the election results on my phone, tho.

I might be around the weekend of May 14, if things go accordingly.

banjee trillness (The Reverend), Thursday, 14 April 2011 06:26 (thirteen years ago) link

I'll be volunteering at the door of Stumptown this weekend during the mornIng. Find the big bespectacled guy with a buzzed haircut and come say hi.

Great weather for pho, but not much else, except maybe ducks. My favorite is Pho Hung. Go to the location on Powell. It's suitably divey and the pho is better there than the other location on 82nd.
