The coach of Iraq's tennis team and two players were shot dead in Baghdad on Thursday, said Iraqi Olympic officials.
Coach Hussein Ahmed Rashid and players Nasser Ali Hatem and Wissam Adel Auda were killed in the al-Saidiya district of the capital.
Witnesses said the three were dressed in shorts and were killed days after militants issued a warning forbidding the wearing of shorts.
BUT WE'RE CLEARLY WINNING OVER THERE.

... the US military said it was investigating the alleged killing of an Iraqi civilian by marines last month.
Another inquiry is investigating allegations that marines killed at least 15 Iraqi civilians last year.
The victims, in Haditha, included women and children.
Officials are probing whether US troops deliberately killed the civilians after a roadside bomb attack on their unit.
Not surprising, regrettably. This is the stuff that people were complaining about re: Murtha, and it could be coming back to bite them on the ass hard shortly.

Nobody here has, thank heavens, and I hope never see it elsewhere, but I idly note that gloating over the truth of this incident is, simply put, utterly fucking disgusting. Who knows what the outcome of all this will be but the end of this three year plus charade should not require even MORE innocent dead.

"There is a limit to the acceptable excuses. Yes a mistake may happen but there is an acceptable limit to mistakes," Nuri al-Maliki told Reuters when asked about a U.S. investigation into the deaths of 24 Iraqis in the western town last November.
"We are worried about the increase in 'mistakes'. I am not saying that they are intentional [I'M JUST SAYING 'MISTAKES' IN QUOTES!]. But it is worrying for us," he said in an interview in his offices in Baghdad.
