Cool!

When is it?

Also, come to Edinburgh for mine in January.

KeithW (kmw), Sunday, 28 November 2004 23:29 (twenty years ago)

18th December. It's a Saturday! I have made no plans, but maybe, if Glasgow is up for it, we could do something. In the evening, that is, I will be at Parkhead in the afternoon.

I haven't been in Edinburgh since I wrecked my leg at the Usher Hall. A trip through would be a good thing, I think.

ailsa (ailsa), Sunday, 28 November 2004 23:34 (twenty years ago)

cºzen (Cozen), Monday, 29 November 2004 00:22 (twenty years ago)

I didn't know Lara was there (not that that would have woken me up, but still...)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 29 November 2004 00:25 (twenty years ago)

Cook phoned me earlier in the evening and said "it would be funny if no-one turned up".

I wonder if it was.

Puddin'Head Miller (PJ Miller), Thursday, 2 December 2004 17:37 (twenty years ago)

I'm moving.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 2 December 2004 17:47 (twenty years ago)

can I come to glasgow on friday?

cºzen (Cozen), Thursday, 2 December 2004 20:54 (twenty years ago)

three weeks pass...
I last tried Glasgow over 6 months ago. I wish I were going there again soon, like Sally is.

Here are some pictures from the last visit (apologies for non-topicality):

Mooro (Mooro), Friday, 24 December 2004 12:53 (twenty years ago)

They are very good, those pictures.

I like the one, where a quiff protrudes into the corner of the frame, but its owner is nowhere to be seen.

Does RJG work in an ironmonger's?

Puddin'Head Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 24 December 2004 13:40 (twenty years ago)

Several billion posts up there, Miss Madchen suggested that Mr Ailsa should apply for a job. Mrs Ailsa is pleased to report that Mr Ailsa has been selected for interview.

Merry Christmas Glasgow xx

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 24 December 2004 17:32 (twenty years ago)

I keep getting bigger.

RJG (RJG), Friday, 24 December 2004 20:45 (twenty years ago)

Merry Christmas you cheeky monkeys. I'm totally bored already.

KeithW (kmw), Friday, 24 December 2004 21:11 (twenty years ago)

Yay Mr Ailsa!! *crosses fingers*

Madchen (Madchen), Saturday, 25 December 2004 10:17 (twenty years ago)

You glaikit sumph, Keith!

Puddin'Head Miller (PJ Miller), Saturday, 25 December 2004 10:20 (twenty years ago)

Apparently it snowed in Glasgow yesterday. Which was nice. Especially for Stephen, who placed a bet (at 6-1) on that happening back in October.

So ker-ching for him today!

Mooro (Mooro), Sunday, 26 December 2004 12:13 (twenty years ago)

lucky him!

ph as v, though?

RJG (RJG), Sunday, 26 December 2004 14:31 (twenty years ago)

Y, e, s, to ph, rather than, v.

wow i know not of this band's formation nor their appearence at the winchester club. now i'm sad that i've missed their debut show.

ken c (ken c), Monday, 10 January 2005 14:27 (twenty years ago)

I think somebody should Report Back on the Doctor Doc gig.

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Monday, 10 January 2005 14:35 (twenty years ago)

It's Doctor Cock.

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 10 January 2005 16:01 (twenty years ago)

(S. Murdoch has not been so excited about a band since The Rapture)

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 10 January 2005 16:35 (twenty years ago)

I wonder what his favourite band was, then.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 10 January 2005 16:42 (twenty years ago)

The computer has eaten my breathlessly excited contribution to this thread.

Puddin'Head Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 10 January 2005 17:38 (twenty years ago)

I stood next to Alex Kapranos at the Woody after the Doctor Spock gig. Except he didn't arrive in time to see Ally. Shame on him. He missed some spectacularly out-of-tune guitaring and some arse wiggling (it got much better though). He's also much shorter than he looks, and in need of a shave. Not the dapper young man I think he thought was.

I will be out of the country the next time D2D play, which is rather a shame. I would maybe have become their stalker or something otherwise.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 10 January 2005 17:42 (twenty years ago)

I walked past the cathedral last night where the next gig will take place. I burst out laughing. I think I said 'fucking hell' out loud.

It is very big.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 10 January 2005 17:46 (twenty years ago)

Oh, AND - Winchester sold out for the first time ever! 300 bodies crammed together! A strangely fitting occasion, I suppose.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 10 January 2005 17:51 (twenty years ago)

Winchester Cathedral.

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 10 January 2005 19:09 (twenty years ago)

Ally, Lucy has just said that "dot to dot are the most exciting band since the Rapture" on the Winchester club list... Who said it first, her; you; mental man Murdoch? Is it just coincidence. I think the Rapture are rubbish.

KeithW (kmw), Monday, 10 January 2005 21:28 (twenty years ago)

I don't like The Rapture much myself. Murdoch, apparently, said it first. Maybe he doesn't like Ther Rapture either and that was his point.
