am thinking of flying to Long Beach from SF, as it's only $84 and everything else is too slow.

going to the pruitt-igoe documentary at the l.a. film fest on saturday. it's downtown at l.a. live.

the place in koreatown? i liked it, but the english-language song selections were limited.

yeah, i would vote for max karaoke instead (there's 2 locations, one downtown and one on the westside - haven't been to the DT one but presumably it is close by a subway)

In my case (assuming we're still talking Saturday the 16th for a FAP) it'll have to be afternoon drinking, both Hollywood and Silver Lake are feasible. Will need to be back at Union Station by around 4:30 for the regular dinner with friends I do each month down here.

the 13th sounds good! and i can probably drink the whole livelong day on the 16th so that's ok by me

very decadent option. I'm OK w/ doing a diff night (Friday?) if matinee drinking not good for others, but really I need to finalize my other plans soon so I know.

Friday night would be out for me due to other plans, then again I am but one voice. I was talking with Cunga the other day about this and he's v. much down for Sat. afternoon as well.

It should be noted that that is the weekend of Carmageddon, but considering as I seem to be the only person on here that a) lives on the west side and b) has a car, I guess that really only affects me.

i think I will hit the beach towns (S.M. and Venice, really) by myself on a weekday, unless any of you are gung ho about that.

I live on Sepulveda, Ned. A.k.a. the only real alternative to the 405. I'm not convinced I'll even be able to get out of my apartment complex.

Just pace it out easily. I'll be away for a few days but will be checking in here and there as I can, so just keep the thread updated. I should be up there and free to do whatever comes up any time after 11 am or so.

Outdoor movies are not my thing, but Evil Dead 2 is showing @ Hollywood Forever Cemetery next Sat night! Will have to consider.

they just played the entire trilogy at the egyptian but i missed it ;_;

if you get a good seat those cemetery screenings are fun as hell btw - bring lots of booze and a blanket and some snacks and that is a good way to spend a saturday evening

well, I am on the waitlist for an Upright Citz Brigade show at 11 (will head for Silver Lake if I don't get in). Motel A/C does not work. Had a couple drinks at Spotlight. Went in Amoeba long enough to price Kovacs box.

I have yet to catch a bus in this town.

forgot whether i mentioned it on this thread, but i'm moving this weekend. we get the keys on friday but the moving truck doesn't come until monday -- we'll be carrying things over there in the interim. so, i'm happy to block out a little time to drink somewhere over the hill, but if any of y'all feel like coming up to the studio city area, even better. i know some great sushi places.
