may i suggest the federal for daytime drinking? it's one block from the red line in north hollywood, and i presume the bar is also open during brunch hours. upstairs patio and many many many beers, as well.

Yes I know it's nowhere near, but I have no point of reference for how far back things are going to be jammed.

Let me put it this way -- you could take the Gold Line to Union Station then via Metrolink/Anaheim to Anaheim Station and a quick cab ride over and not have to worry about the freeways at all.

I'm a single guy in town on business. My trip out of town got delayed a day. So no plans except for what I hear is Carmageddon. Sounds bad, eh? Made it (on 2nd attempt) to the Dick Library today, and I was never so happy to see a grave. (There was a racist docent there too, what a surprise.)
