I guess, there's a guy in a shiny shirt too. It's F!U!N!. Whoo! (let's discount the fact that there doesn't appear to have been anyone anywhere near any of the other tables in the background so either no-one has been coming near tie dude all night, or else he's having that much fun before anyone else even gets there)

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:04 (twenty years ago)

I will attempt to be in the Drum & Monkey around teatime, though I don't know what anyone looks like.

Me, some moments ago:

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:08 (twenty years ago)

Haha,

That'll help

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:08 (twenty years ago)

Anyone going to the Plan B night at Sleazy's on Fri?
Christ! Red Well! The Magnificents!
Should be ace and it's only £4!

Stew (stew s), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:10 (twenty years ago)

As long as you turn up looking like that...

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:10 (twenty years ago)

That's nothing like you, yet it is, somehow. That tie also bears an uncanny resemblance to the curtains in my primary school assembly hall.

Onimo, you posted on a photo thread. Therefore if you wear a Celtic shirt and surround yourself with small excited children, you will be recognisable!

I might not be there until after six now, due to having to go for a pint in Paisley with a work colleague.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:13 (twenty years ago)

OK... It's the drum and monkey I see. I'll be over about 8 or so I guess. Nick, can you let me know by text if you're going somewhere else? Cheers.

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:14 (twenty years ago)

The Carnarvon is not the Carnarvon, it is now called Oscar Slaters.

OK, D&M it is. I will be there at 4.30-5pm.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:16 (twenty years ago)

Talking of Paisley, I'm listening to Gerry Rafferty's 'Night Owl'.

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:16 (twenty years ago)

Btw, that is my favourite picture of Dastoor ever.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:17 (twenty years ago)

I was hoping that everyone would post a picture of themselves with a 'tie head', for Gerry's benefit.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:20 (twenty years ago)

(NB. not Gerry Rafferty's benefit)

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:21 (twenty years ago)

I was hoping you did requests and you could do a black and white minstrel show thing

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:22 (twenty years ago)

Good work team! Proper little Steering Committee! Look forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Onimo, I'll be the disgusting, drooling drunk whose alcohol tolerance has crumbled under the wheels of a particularly large wagon. I'm deliberately not packing a tie.

Tim (Tim), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:28 (twenty years ago)

Good work Tim! That'll make you easily recognizable in a pub on a Friday night.

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:31 (twenty years ago)

I was hoping you did requests and you could do a black and white minstrel show thing

I might do that at the Gerry Rafferty benefit (in the back room of Oscar Slaters, Saturday).

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:33 (twenty years ago)

I don't get this 'Gerry Rafferty Benefit' thing... Can you fill me in?

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:34 (twenty years ago)

No, but here's a picture of Tim:

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:35 (twenty years ago)

Ha!

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:36 (twenty years ago)

I don't have any photos of me, but I look a bit like this, sometimes.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v710/muppetbaby/southpark.bmp

If anyone links to any pictures of me on Sinister, I'll stab them.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:36 (twenty years ago)

Which begs the question: who is best at Pinteresque pauses these days?

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:37 (twenty years ago)

(he was talking about Wolf Eyes, btw)

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:37 (twenty years ago)

x-post

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:37 (twenty years ago)

I thought he was talking about Dot to Dot.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:38 (twenty years ago)

This is me:

http://www.kmwatson.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/me.jpg

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:38 (twenty years ago)

I certainly think .2. should include more Pinteresque pauses in their set. Many more.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:39 (twenty years ago)

Keith, have you seen the national Pop League photos for last month? There's one that I'm pretty sure is you http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/groups/g_4987371/NPL40+250305/4015.jpg?bcI4DaCBQM.3PDPc

I also think that's the back of my head in the foreground.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:40 (twenty years ago)

Hmm, not sure... I look as though I'm dancing with the crusty guy I argued with at Ally's party. So maybe not... The face looks right, but not sure about the ears. Don't know!

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:42 (twenty years ago)

I was hoping you'd have one of me with arms in the air on the stage!

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:43 (twenty years ago)

A member of Dot to Dot Juniors:

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:43 (twenty years ago)

damn.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:44 (twenty years ago)

Is Matt a crusty guy? Also, do you even remember arguing with anyone at Ally's party?

They aren't my photos, they are off the NPL yahoo group. I'm just glad there isn't one of me jumping up and down to My Sharona.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:46 (twenty years ago)

Actually, no... Matt is not. But there was another guy who looks like Matt I argued with.

The song 'My Sharona' was the highlight of the night. And maybe my life.

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:47 (twenty years ago)

ally hasn't had a party, this year.

I wonder why!!

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:47 (twenty years ago)

Oh yes! Sorry... Richard's party!

Bedtime anyway... Catch you lot tomorrow.

KeefW (kmw), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:48 (twenty years ago)

I know who he means. I think it is stretching it to say he is crusty. He's very tall though.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:48 (twenty years ago)

See you, Keef!

RJG - are you feeling better yet?

I have 4 tickets for BRWHBTW.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:49 (twenty years ago)

I do feel a little bit better, thank you.

since it only really hurts when I nod, I should be fine, to hang out, with you lot.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:50 (twenty years ago)

Jings, crivvens, help ma boab etc, it's really late and I've got to get up and go and do shopping on my way into work!

See you at the Drum & Monkey, people.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:51 (twenty years ago)

See you at the Drum & People, monkeys.

Alba (Alba), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:56 (twenty years ago)

why aren't we going to the carnarvon? oh, well.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 21 April 2005 22:58 (twenty years ago)

Don't interlude now, Gillanders.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 21 April 2005 23:17 (twenty years ago)

well done.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 22 April 2005 06:27 (twenty years ago)

It would break my heart to see the Carnarvon now it has become Oscar Slaters. I'm pretending it never existed. See you in the Drum and Monkey then!

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 22 April 2005 07:16 (twenty years ago)

I was surprised to hear from diehard Carnarvon fans (i.e. Gav) that Oscar Slater's is, if anything, an IMPROVEMENT!

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 22 April 2005 08:02 (twenty years ago)

But they CHANGED THE NAME to SOMETHING CRAP!

Madchen (Madchen), Friday, 22 April 2005 08:36 (twenty years ago)

when is the earliest person getting to the drum & the monkey?

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 22 April 2005 08:44 (twenty years ago)

I just got a job at marks & sparks.

cozen (Cozen), Friday, 22 April 2005 08:45 (twenty years ago)

HAHA no way.

Oscar Slater's may be crap but at least it is HISTORICAL.

Ally C (Ally C), Friday, 22 April 2005 08:59 (twenty years ago)

Well done, Cozen. I got one too, but I chickened out because I would have had to listen to Christmas carols for six weeks. They had a lot of targets and stuff up on the walls backstage. Sales targets, not dartboards. Did you have to go out and accost a member of the public as part of your interview? I didn't like that bit, I felt like a twat.
