"Run them over, they don't matter." - Christy, aka The Nice One

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 02:36 (nineteen years ago) link

I know! Bitch is crazy.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 02:37 (nineteen years ago) link

They are such sore losers too. "It's unfair!" It wasn't unfair. It's part of the game. That's why there was a big yellow yield sign in the middle of a garage in the phillipines!

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 02:39 (nineteen years ago) link

Colin with the ox though. Wow. i'll never forget that moment.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 02:39 (nineteen years ago) link

how come they were the only ones who didn't know that it took two people to do the ox thing? everybody else just jumped right in.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 02:42 (nineteen years ago) link

The ox thing? Tell me more, please.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 02:45 (nineteen years ago) link

Every other team had one person leading the ox through a muddy field in order to dig up a rope with the next clue on it. That way they could control the ox's movements and make its pattern sort of logical and orderly. Christie, for whatever reason, stood on the side and let Colin try to both steer the ox and look for the clue, and the ox just went everywhere, including leaving the field.

Colin was not very happy at this development.

Baked Bean Teeth (Baked Bean Teeth), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 02:50 (nineteen years ago) link

Nice.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 02:52 (nineteen years ago) link

You should still go on the show.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 02:53 (nineteen years ago) link

Was I saying this ox deal was a bad thing?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 04:56 (nineteen years ago) link

Colin: "Get in here and start looking for it."
Christy: "It's too deep."
Colin: "I don't care."
Christy: "It's right here."

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 11:11 (nineteen years ago) link

After the "I'M PACKING IT IN!" and "MY OX IS BROKEN!" meltdowns I realize that Colin has been the comedy gold of this season. That still doesn't mean he should win though.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 11:27 (nineteen years ago) link

Nicole OTM.

I was really, really hoping his head would pop off.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 12:23 (nineteen years ago) link

i was actually scared a little bit for chip & kim. i wanted them to get as far away from colin as quickly as possible.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 12:27 (nineteen years ago) link

he is a tad psycho.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 12:28 (nineteen years ago) link

I am also ECSTATIC that Chip and Kim won a trip to Hawaii!!!

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 12:28 (nineteen years ago) link

yeah, i'm glad that C&C didn't win another trip. they looked a little blase when they won, like, their THIRD vacation.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 12:31 (nineteen years ago) link

I just wish they'd been Philiminated. Preferably with guns.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 12:41 (nineteen years ago) link

My fave compare/contrast moment was:

bible model girl: God put all of this in me so that I can win.

Chip: The lord helps idiots!

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 12:47 (nineteen years ago) link

bible model girl: God put all of this in me so that I can win.

OH DEAR

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 12:49 (nineteen years ago) link

she said that with a great blank cult-like stare too.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 12:52 (nineteen years ago) link

WHAT I GOT YOU GOT TO GET IT PUT IT IN YOU

God (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 12:58 (nineteen years ago) link

Why didn't Chip and Kim let one of the other teams yield Colin and Christie? I totally would have passed on it.

I'm totally with you on this. Maybe we should be a team. "Dan and n/a, two people who barely kinda know each other, from the internet."

I felt really bad for Chip doing the walking-on-the-really-high-up-walkway thing. I would've been fucking scared of that too.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 13:34 (nineteen years ago) link

That would instantly turn into "Internet Dating Couple" and our S/Os would be peeved.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 13:41 (nineteen years ago) link

Who on ilx would make the best racing couples? That is a good question.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:08 (nineteen years ago) link

I liked when Jesus Muppet mentioned the catwalk after do the girder thing. I just can't imagine him as a model.

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:22 (nineteen years ago) link

C&C do apparently deserve each other.

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:23 (nineteen years ago) link

Sarah and I would be like the worst possible team. We are both really wussy about a lot of the stunts, we're both vegetarian (so no caviar), she walks really slowly, and I lose my patience really easily.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:27 (nineteen years ago) link

best. episode. ever.

I wanted them out SO badly last night, but the finale would have sucked without the evil-doers. poor chuck is going to need a lot of Jesus to protect him from the weasels next week.

and, i know it's been mentioned, but "hit them, they don't matter"!?! wow.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:27 (nineteen years ago) link

So does this thing come out in some sort of edited-highlights DVD eventually?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:28 (nineteen years ago) link

chip, i meant not chuck.

and another thing: do these people actually think God is taking time out from slamming the world with plagues, floods and pestilence to help them play a game show? I can just picture the old Dude on his cloud whipping up a batch of lightning bolts and pausing to look down, "what's that? chip needs some help climbing a rope ladder? I'm on it!" or "starving orphans of the world, you're just going to have to wait. the model with the nice hair on Amazing Race needs a hand finding an envelope in a puddle of muck."

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:43 (nineteen years ago) link

God is everywhere, Fritz.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:43 (nineteen years ago) link

Apparently!

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:47 (nineteen years ago) link

I'm sad that the finale is next week and we'll be playing a show instead of sitting in front of the tv. ha ha... Anyway, only a week to figure out how to use the VCR to record something. It's our own reality show test of sorts. Ready, set, go!

Nick gets pissed off when he drives, but I get worried sick when I drive which makes him upset as a passenger. Plus, he hates flying. So, yeah, I guess it wouldn't work out. :-(

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:48 (nineteen years ago) link

I would insist that we take the train everywhere, even from like Russia to New Zealand. We would be three weeks behind all the other teams.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:50 (nineteen years ago) link

I would always be asking locals where the record shops are.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:52 (nineteen years ago) link

"donde los Os Mutantes origanales pressinges por favor?"

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:53 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, you should memorize how to say that in every language, just to be on the safe side. You never know where the game will take you!

I totally agree about the yield bit - it's part of the game, so get over it.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 16:03 (nineteen years ago) link

Besides, anyone who would actually say "hit them, they don't matter" has no right at all to complain about poor sportsmanship.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:02 (nineteen years ago) link

I'M PACKIN' IT!

Angry Colin (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:05 (nineteen years ago) link

Plus, they totally would have used the yield if they had been first. Especially after losing their big lead (another nelson-from-the-simpsons HA HA! moment) at the airport.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:06 (nineteen years ago) link

I was irrationally happy when they missed their connection. I danced a wierd sexual jig in front of the TV.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:42 (nineteen years ago) link

were you sporting porky pig style?

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:44 (nineteen years ago) link

No! If I had been, Angry Colin would have caused such severe turlting that I might have ruptured a kidney. As it was I almost had a laughernia; it was like the twins enacted karmic retribution for their elimination by possessing Colin and Christie at the oxplow task.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:52 (nineteen years ago) link

Woah hey, they haven't been in Canada yet so that deserves a big fat SPOILER WARNING. Maybe.

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Thursday, 16 September 2004 03:49 (nineteen years ago) link

Ha ha. I looked at it anyway. His earlier articles on other episodes are pretty interesting.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:26 (nineteen years ago) link

One hour to go. I'm getting nervous!! (first i have to sit thru big brother. maria and i are probably the only losers who actually watched the entire u.s. season.)

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 22:59 (nineteen years ago) link

Damn! Moms are out! Good on 'em for getting that far...

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 00:51 (nineteen years ago) link

Yeah, they did a good job. They got a lot further then a lot of those younger speedier teams.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 01:15 (nineteen years ago) link
