um so has anyone else's twitter suddenly undergone a drastic design change? i knew there was a new twitter in the works bcz of something some dude mentioned in passing but i would have expected a 'would you like to switch to new twitter' option tbh.

it is the first time i have felt the kind of internet user outrage this sort of thing elicits, it does just seem kinda worse, & leave a lot of space un-used while hiding or needlessly subdividing stuff like followers, &c

i dont have the new one yet but it did start forcing me to use the mobile site on my ipad the other day which is p annoying since it blows

new one started rolling out months ago btw, not sure why it always takes twitter so long to do these things

but like i had just got used to 'activity': what the hell is this distinction between 'interactions' and 'mentions' going to add to my bleedin' user experience

and they haven't even got rid of infinite scroll, which was the thing that sucked most about the last design.

so yeah, i too am experiencing for the first time this 'internet user outrage' feeling - i actually almost held off on tweeting about the upgrade because i normally get really pissed off by people whining about a free internet service changing something cosmetic rather than terms-of-service-breaking.

(then my desire to be possibly the first person in my twitter circle to talk about some new piece of news won out)

i just thought i would bump this thread to say, i think twitter is pretty good! probably if i have posted itt before it is just to say that i am confused by it or something. i started playing with it maybe six months ago & it is neatly integrated into my life, now. i know this has probably been registered, probably after it was invented, but it seems like so much a more efficient, less multivalently-messy, communicative tool than any of the other comparable platforms. like in being disproportionately-content heavy, w/fewer sprawling personal dimensions. the democratic thing about how the internet usefully minimises human barriers like 'status', or even charisma, or whatever, in favour of a meritocracy of information & content, is really prominent w/it. there just seem to be lots of interesting dimensions to it. there was a thing rare basement said about how it was a platform which was (badly remembering & paraphrasing, here) proving women are funny, ie in comparison to various other media & their awkward limitations or segregations on participation.

when i click a link to a tweet, why am i shown my own profile for a moment and then redirected to the tweet display? bad engineering, thats why
