Why didn't Chip and Kim let one of the other teams yield Colin and Christie? I totally would have passed on it.

I'm totally with you on this. Maybe we should be a team. "Dan and n/a, two people who barely kinda know each other, from the internet."

I felt really bad for Chip doing the walking-on-the-really-high-up-walkway thing. I would've been fucking scared of that too.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 13:34 (twenty years ago)

That would instantly turn into "Internet Dating Couple" and our S/Os would be peeved.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 13:41 (twenty years ago)

Who on ilx would make the best racing couples? That is a good question.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:08 (twenty years ago)

I liked when Jesus Muppet mentioned the catwalk after do the girder thing. I just can't imagine him as a model.

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:22 (twenty years ago)

C&C do apparently deserve each other.

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:23 (twenty years ago)

Sarah and I would be like the worst possible team. We are both really wussy about a lot of the stunts, we're both vegetarian (so no caviar), she walks really slowly, and I lose my patience really easily.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:27 (twenty years ago)

best. episode. ever.

I wanted them out SO badly last night, but the finale would have sucked without the evil-doers. poor chuck is going to need a lot of Jesus to protect him from the weasels next week.

and, i know it's been mentioned, but "hit them, they don't matter"!?! wow.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:27 (twenty years ago)

So does this thing come out in some sort of edited-highlights DVD eventually?

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:28 (twenty years ago)

chip, i meant not chuck.

and another thing: do these people actually think God is taking time out from slamming the world with plagues, floods and pestilence to help them play a game show? I can just picture the old Dude on his cloud whipping up a batch of lightning bolts and pausing to look down, "what's that? chip needs some help climbing a rope ladder? I'm on it!" or "starving orphans of the world, you're just going to have to wait. the model with the nice hair on Amazing Race needs a hand finding an envelope in a puddle of muck."

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:43 (twenty years ago)

God is everywhere, Fritz.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:43 (twenty years ago)

Apparently!

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:47 (twenty years ago)

I'm sad that the finale is next week and we'll be playing a show instead of sitting in front of the tv. ha ha... Anyway, only a week to figure out how to use the VCR to record something. It's our own reality show test of sorts. Ready, set, go!

Nick gets pissed off when he drives, but I get worried sick when I drive which makes him upset as a passenger. Plus, he hates flying. So, yeah, I guess it wouldn't work out. :-(

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:48 (twenty years ago)

I would insist that we take the train everywhere, even from like Russia to New Zealand. We would be three weeks behind all the other teams.

n/a (Nick A.), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:50 (twenty years ago)

I would always be asking locals where the record shops are.

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:52 (twenty years ago)

"donde los Os Mutantes origanales pressinges por favor?"

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 15:53 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, you should memorize how to say that in every language, just to be on the safe side. You never know where the game will take you!

I totally agree about the yield bit - it's part of the game, so get over it.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 16:03 (twenty years ago)

Besides, anyone who would actually say "hit them, they don't matter" has no right at all to complain about poor sportsmanship.

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:02 (twenty years ago)

I'M PACKIN' IT!

Angry Colin (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:05 (twenty years ago)

Plus, they totally would have used the yield if they had been first. Especially after losing their big lead (another nelson-from-the-simpsons HA HA! moment) at the airport.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:06 (twenty years ago)

I was irrationally happy when they missed their connection. I danced a wierd sexual jig in front of the TV.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:42 (twenty years ago)

were you sporting porky pig style?

Fritz Wollner (Fritz), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:44 (twenty years ago)

No! If I had been, Angry Colin would have caused such severe turlting that I might have ruptured a kidney. As it was I almost had a laughernia; it was like the twins enacted karmic retribution for their elimination by possessing Colin and Christie at the oxplow task.

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 17:52 (twenty years ago)

Some behind the scenes coverage from a blogger that stumbled across the filming in Canada

Elvis Telecom (Chris Barrus), Thursday, 16 September 2004 03:48 (twenty years ago)

Woah hey, they haven't been in Canada yet so that deserves a big fat SPOILER WARNING. Maybe.

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Thursday, 16 September 2004 03:49 (twenty years ago)

Ha ha. I looked at it anyway. His earlier articles on other episodes are pretty interesting.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Thursday, 16 September 2004 17:26 (twenty years ago)

One hour to go. I'm getting nervous!! (first i have to sit thru big brother. maria and i are probably the only losers who actually watched the entire u.s. season.)

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 21 September 2004 22:59 (twenty years ago)

Damn! Moms are out! Good on 'em for getting that far...

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 00:51 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, they did a good job. They got a lot further then a lot of those younger speedier teams.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 01:15 (twenty years ago)

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!! Seeya, Colin! Wouldn't wanna be ya!

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 01:56 (twenty years ago)

America sighs in relief.

Actually, Colin took defeat rather well.

dave225 (Dave225), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 01:58 (twenty years ago)

I AM SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 01:58 (twenty years ago)

me too yayyy

jones (actual), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 01:59 (twenty years ago)

it really IS amazing!!

jones (actual), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 01:59 (twenty years ago)

I never expected the nice guys to finish first!

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:00 (twenty years ago)

That town car driving on the shoulder had me quakin' in my boots!

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:00 (twenty years ago)

I loved the other teams' reactions during the race! "Oooh, Chip lied to us, he's evil!" Bitch, you were riding on his dick and he shook you off; suck it up!

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:02 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, really. Get off the damn boat and check for yourself. The moms knew enough not to trust Colin.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:03 (twenty years ago)

YAY!!

For once I appreciate the manipulative editing.

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:04 (twenty years ago)

That ending was just so soul-satisfying in a way.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:06 (twenty years ago)

"Chip and Kim got on an earlier flight; we gotta get on their flight! WWhy didn't they share their information?"

It's your own damn fault for not double-checking the flight, dumbasses! Also, WHY THE HELL DID YOU CHECK LUGGAGE????

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:07 (twenty years ago)

I'm happy for Chip & Kim, but I'm probably the only person in America who wanted Colin & Christie to win, especially after coming back and beating the moms.

Chip & Kim won basically because of fog, but I haveta fault C&C for not checking in during the night to make sure their flight was still on schedule.

Great show. Looking forward to the new one in...November? December?

Baked Bean Teeth (Baked Bean Teeth), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:10 (twenty years ago)

Can I just say that the whole clouds=God thing was an inspired touch.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:11 (twenty years ago)

And see that, God didn't want the bible models to win, that's why he made it so foggy! He wanted them to learn the lesson of humility.

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:14 (twenty years ago)

Did Nicole's collapse into snivelling while using the bikes remind anyone of that one "Seinfeld" where Jerry was dating that theater actress who cried hysterically over the most mundane of things (e.g. dropping her hotdog into the dirt on the softball diamond)?

"But it was really good!"

Baked Bean Teeth (Baked Bean Teeth), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:14 (twenty years ago)

The dating models loss was God's way of punishing them for their vanity, since they refused to shave their heads in that holy ceremony to get ahead.

Josh in Chicago (Josh in Chicago), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:16 (twenty years ago)

I was proud of the moms. I was so psyched for Chip and Kim. A little surprised that Colin was a gracious loser.

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:20 (twenty years ago)

So what ever happened to the teepee thing that the above spoiler link refers to?

Maria D. (Maria D.), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:20 (twenty years ago)

I'm actually disappointed that there wasn't a vintage Colin meltdown.

Leeeter van den Hoogenband (Leee), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:44 (twenty years ago)

"MY FIANCE IS BROKEN!"

Leon Czolgosz (Nicole), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:45 (twenty years ago)

"I'M LUGING IT!"

Dan Perry '08 (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 22 September 2004 02:46 (twenty years ago)
