WOW, the Denver thread really took off while I was without internet access.

Chenille, post more pics of THE JERK!

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Sunday, 11 September 2005 16:22 (nineteen years ago) link

my parents are visiting denver next week. my dad will only want to golf. who knows good golf courses?

keith m (keithmcl), Monday, 12 September 2005 00:05 (nineteen years ago) link

there is one over in louisville that's pretty nice, but it cost $800 for me and 4 of my co-workers to golf there, so it's probably too expensive.

park hill? city park? those two places will be not to bad, price wise, although i don't know if the city park course is very awesome.

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Monday, 12 September 2005 00:41 (nineteen years ago) link

If you want to knock his eyes out, go to Arrowhead, one of the 100 best public courses in USA. Not cheap.

yeah they ARE! i was noting that as i drove into boulder this morning

RUMOR HAS IT: me and some people in DENVER are going to eat at P.F. Chang's in DENVER! TONIGHT!

Lettuce wraps?

M. V. (M.V.), Friday, 16 September 2005 18:32 (nineteen years ago) link

i wish i could move back to colorado. I lived in Boulder last year, came back this past May. Living in Richmond, VA again and missing the flatirons, canyon, eldo, sanitas, etc.

Benjamin H (BillMartini), Friday, 16 September 2005 19:16 (nineteen years ago) link

What is the deal with PF Chang's? One just opened up in my town, and the lines go out the door.

Pleasant Plains /// (Pleasant Plains ///), Friday, 16 September 2005 19:30 (nineteen years ago) link

eew, boulder?? you're not serious

P.P. people love PF changs - even though its not any better than just a regular, run-of-the-mill chinese restaurant

i dont know why, exactly.

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Friday, 16 September 2005 19:49 (nineteen years ago) link

xpost"these penguins march or something": so, I deduce it is---March Of The Penguins, which has just started at my local:"Emperor penguins overcome daunting obstacles in order to return to their breeding grounds." Sounds good.

don, Saturday, 17 September 2005 01:24 (nineteen years ago) link

PF Changs is ok, but we got 65 dollars worth of free stuff, and that part was REALLY SWEET. I think, really, I'm just not the biggest chinese food fan. I'm always UNSATISFIED after I eat it. Pizza is the same way. Maybe if I tried that CHEESBURGER PIZZA I'd change my mind -- but probably, I'd just vomit.

gunther heartymeal (keckles), Sunday, 18 September 2005 04:08 (nineteen years ago) link

PF Changs has one mighty tasty mongolian beef dish, i must say.

lemin (lemin), Sunday, 18 September 2005 04:18 (nineteen years ago) link

Penguin movie amazing to look at, and told a straightforward story without too much gooey goo; but I was a bit dissappointed. I wanted it to be more about evolution, I guess, about how/why these behaviors developed, not just about the incredible behaviors themselves. Maybe I just wanted more detail. 100 mins would have been better than 80.

Frank Kogan (Frank Kogan), Monday, 19 September 2005 00:57 (nineteen years ago) link

Still, I would recommend it to anyone who likes movies about penguins in Antarctica.

Frank Kogan (Frank Kogan), Monday, 19 September 2005 01:04 (nineteen years ago) link

discovery had a two hour documentary on them a few years back, did everyone miss it then? or is it the same thing?

i then ate a mayonnaise sandwich (practically) which made me feel queasy.

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Wednesday, 16 November 2005 06:11 (nineteen years ago) link

hey pickles.. you ready for your turkey dinner?

me and parents were discussing how much it would disturb you if we got a thanksgiving meal IN A BOX

its almost tempting!!

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Wednesday, 16 November 2005 06:14 (nineteen years ago) link

How did I get branded the food snob of the fam?

Mom gets so stressed out about MEALS when I'm around. I must criticize too much.

not sure about pickles (Jacqui Pickles), Wednesday, 16 November 2005 06:17 (nineteen years ago) link

you are like A FOOD CRITIC, apparently

Homosexual II (Homosexual II), Wednesday, 16 November 2005 06:19 (nineteen years ago) link

I just don't want my food from a box, jeez. Is that so much to ask? For priding herself on having no emotions, Mom sure is sensitive about her COOKING.

I can't wait to chug some bazookas at Romas! Annnnd... man, what else will be going on? We gonna catch the new HP? Is that gay cowboy movie gonna be out?

not sure about pickles (Jacqui Pickles), Wednesday, 16 November 2005 06:24 (nineteen years ago) link

oooo romas!!!! definitely hp. also, maybe, dancing with andrew.

food in boxes is ok with me.

Hello Wrights. I hope you enjoy your Colorado Thanksgiving. I'm going to have a Connecticut Thanksgiving. In Connecticut. (As opposed to having a Connecticut Thanksgiving in Colorado.)

But before I fly east, I will see the HOLY MODAL ROUNDERS movie at the Starz theatre as part of the Denver Film Festival, and afterwards Peter Stampfel will perform. I saw Weber & Stampfel play a couple of times in the early '80s, once at Folk City and once at the Mudd Club (these were in some city to the east of Denver by a good bit). I gave Stampfel a copy of my band's demo tape.

Frank Kogan (Frank Kogan), Thursday, 17 November 2005 04:26 (nineteen years ago) link

i am still digging out of my snow grave. i was in town and those guys who go around protesting construction sites that don't use union labor need to get some new slogans to shout 'no justice, no peace' is tired. most everyone who works downtown looks miserable to me. but i was carrying an axe.

I would like to come to Denver one day but geographically the chances are slim.

my parents are visiting denver next week. my dad will only want to golf

This was at least the second opportunity on this thread for a feckless Brit to pipe up with Things To Do In Denver With Your Dad hyuk-hyuk and I can't let it pass now.

Michael Jones (MichaelJ), Wednesday, 11 October 2006 15:29 (eighteen years ago) link

i never saw that movie!(a DAD in Scotland piped up about that movie as well).

AND, I wish you would come to Denver.
