In Laserblast I thought the music was real cool, specifically a tune playing on the radio in the van. So I went online to seek it and boom there it was on iTunes store! "Billy's Radio #1." Also features the hits "Grandpa and Kathy," "Billy and Kathy," "Tony Discovers Black Spot," "Love Theme After Fight," and "Billy in Mirror/Chuck Goes to Car."

Only Love (Pads the Film)

Went camping at one of our beautiful lakes a few weekends ago with some friends. Boated out to a place they had camped before and named Spider Island. Which got me all excited and go "Spider Island, home to the stars!" They didn't get it, of course, not being a nerd about it like I am. Had to keep the refs to myself all weekend. It was torture!

Did you get hot, beefy and sweaty? Were all your friends sultry dancers?

We had that first part down pat. The second, not so much. I did sing the "Gary, Gary" song to myself a few times.

In other news, I finally got the "Haitian Divorce" reference in Master Ninja II.

I've been watching (probably re-watching) these and yeah the Joel years are miles away better than the Mike years. At least in the overarching narrative/connective skits. You just can't beat Dr. Forrestor and TV's Frank as villains. I think season 3 is my favorite (Pod People still being my favorite ep).

I was thinking of watching some KTMAs on Youtube, anybody have any recommendations?

Yeah, watch seasons 2-7 instead.

Just kidding, I actually haven't watched much of the KTMA's tho. Can't really seem to settle into them.

The KTMAs are weird and mixed but there are a few I would earmark:

SST Death Flight
The Six Million Eyes of Su-Muru

The Gamera eps are all pretty classic

I've only seen a couple but I didn't get the point. Why not just rent the original B-movies and come up with your own sarcastic comments?

I'm watching "Space Mutiny" for the first time. 10 mins in and it's already amazing.

One of the most mindblowing things I encountered in years was that so many KTMA eps are just on youtube. I just remember being on rec.arts.tv.mst3k like 18 years ago during freshman year and trading tapes, and how these were the ultimate prize.

Now you just pull anything up and there ya go.

Come to think of it, I knew the guys who swiped the Forrester stand-up photo-model from the first MSTie Con. I met them when I tried to write for the campus humor mag the next year.

Joel was on the nerdist podcast last week

he was great!

I was really gobsmacked by the realization that they were making an episode every week!

And that they did it 9/5, no overtime.

They said the trick was to schedule week or two week long breaks every so often, to give themselves a bit of a life!

Meantime, the woman who played Debbie in Manos is starting a blog about the experience. Obviously a must-read already!
