I think we would have seen more of Tyrion actually dying than just that unbelievably brutal slash across the face.
― Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Monday, 28 May 2012 04:02 (thirteen years ago)
Lena Headey dialing up drag queen mode to the max is the best thing about this episode.
― Captain Jean-Luc Godard (Leee), Monday, 28 May 2012 05:07 (thirteen years ago)
Stannis pimp as hell too.
But I am pretty sure that Tyrion doesn't get an arrow to the knee.
― Captain Jean-Luc Godard (Leee), Monday, 28 May 2012 05:09 (thirteen years ago)
it's a nerd referencei'm just saying his adventurer days got cut short but he ain't dead by any means
― jump them into a gang - into the absurd (forksclovetofu), Monday, 28 May 2012 05:10 (thirteen years ago)
I just want to know what happened to Stannis. If that isn't dealt with next week, I'll be pretty annoyed. I'm guessing his second-in-command is alive, and I'm assuming that dude's kid didn't make it out.
I know there were budget constraints and the battle narrowed (which is fine, I think it actually worked really well), but I did get a pretty big thrill out of that green explosion ripping apart the fleet. Well done. Some good Neil Marshall gratuitously violent inserts in the battles as well.
― Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Monday, 28 May 2012 05:16 (thirteen years ago)
I am glad to know that I am not in fact a nerd. xp
― Captain Jean-Luc Godard (Leee), Monday, 28 May 2012 05:19 (thirteen years ago)
battle scenes often looked as though executed with a comically small cast, but it was nice to finally see something big and dramatic really happen. even if it did leave things much as they were before. certain tyrion isn't dead. guessing he lost a bit of blood and acquired a nice scar. love dinklage, but man that accent...
― spextor vs bextor (contenderizer), Monday, 28 May 2012 05:50 (thirteen years ago)

Hah, no, I was serious. (I haven't gamed in forever, like, what is this "skyrimming," it sounds like a sex thing, why can't kids play GoldenEye anymore, and everyone playing on PHONES, what's with that.)
― Captain Jean-Luc Godard (Leee), Monday, 28 May 2012 06:25 (thirteen years ago)
"Any man dies with a sword free of blood, I'll rape his corpse!"
The guy who plays the Hound is fantastic.

It was a bit of a poxy amount of fire, was expecting massive walls of flame.
― I wish to incorporate disco into my small business (chap), Monday, 28 May 2012 14:36 (thirteen years ago)
blew the money on the cgi for the wildfire, couldn't afford to set anything else on fire probs
― "Holy crap," I mutter, as he gently taps my area (silby), Monday, 28 May 2012 14:39 (thirteen years ago)
I wanted it to end with the sun rising on a widescreen shot of mass carnage, but again cash money.
The wildfire explosion was bitching though.

"Those are brave men knocking at our doors... Let's go kill them!"
― Roz, Monday, 28 May 2012 15:05 (thirteen years ago)
yeah "let's go kill them" felt weird, i mean if you're going to make everyone English you should have to keep to that shouldn't you?
what's the hound's deal, he loves killing (he cannot stress this enough) but just kind of wandered away from the battle.

To root for Lannisters to win really was a hard pill to swallow.
― homosexual II, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:03 (thirteen years ago)
i was rooting for the leetle fellow
― spextor vs bextor (contenderizer), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:04 (thirteen years ago)
I couldn't root for anyone. One of the things I really like about this show.
― Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:05 (thirteen years ago)
plus stannis is a gross evangelical fundie
― spextor vs bextor (contenderizer), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:06 (thirteen years ago)
I could never quite grasp how much he was a fundie and how much he was going along with it for the benefits. Which is a pretty great representation of how Christianity spread through Europe.
― Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:08 (thirteen years ago)
he's a total Clovis tbh
― Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:09 (thirteen years ago)
well I was rooting for Tyrion, too. And I like Tywin Lannister, too.
― homosexual II, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 02:14 (thirteen years ago)
Tywin's alright by me, with of course about a jillion caveats.
― Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 03:10 (thirteen years ago)
a damn silly name, for one
― spextor vs bextor (contenderizer), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 04:23 (thirteen years ago)
I feel for Stannis on this one. Dude led the charge. Plus, I think we can all agree that there only is one god and he will return to us once we murder a punch of people and put our guy on the throne.
― Fellini.Kuti, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 04:31 (thirteen years ago)
I loved that Stannis was the first up the ladder, while Joffrey was asking "What did my mother say? Did she say it was URGENT?" while a fucking army comes battering at your gate. Gone from hating Joffrey to just thinking he brings the lolz now.
― Fas Ro Duh (Gukbe), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 04:37 (thirteen years ago)
i was really disappointed that he did not die last night. i haven't read the books, but I have to believe that boy's days are numbered, but now his fucking grandpa's there, so no idea where it'll go next.
― Fellini.Kuti, Tuesday, 29 May 2012 04:41 (thirteen years ago)
it was weird... i *enjoyed* Joffrey in that last ep!
