If I didn't have other stuff to do and ILX to distract me, I would make a Tumblr page with a million fake Kurt Vonnegut quotes, like "Know what? Bitches get stuff done. - Kurt Vonnegut."

Even the "good" ones, the ones on the side of the angels, are still kind of STOP WITH THE JPGS ALREADY, EVERYONE'S WACKY AUNT. Like the one about how the poor in America view themselves as temporarily inconvenienced millionaires.

my personal least favorite is the Ira Glass "you're creative and have good taste sorry you can't do exactly what you want with your life" quote

The ones that are thinly-disguised guerilla marketing campaigns for far-right parties are the ones that go from objectionable to downright FUCK YOU. Especially when you get 28 people liking and going "LOL, so true" etc...
― Scary Move 4 (dog latin), Thursday, 12 July 2012 14:55 (eleven years ago) link
was the first one "ask not what your country " etc?
― Mark G, Thursday, 12 July 2012 14:57 (eleven years ago) link
my first thought was, whoever wrote that must be making some terrible art
then I googled rebekah joy plett and found out she should've wrote "you are buying hundreds of hours spent copying the work of mark ryden"

LOL some people are so fucking deluded about the amount of narcissism and inflated sense of self worth that drives people to be "artists"
― calum-y maybe (Whiney G. Weingarten), Thursday, 12 July 2012 14:58 (eleven years ago) link
I don't have that many Facebook friends to begin with and 2/3 of them are hidden but occasionally one of those wacky e-postcards with the "vintage" clip art slip through the cracks and I get a little IA.
Hate when I add someone and I find out almost immediately that they are WACKY AUNT and I lose a little respect for them. :)

It's a strange business. They're all like that, it's just that a tiny minority of them are actually good enough to justify it. The whole system depends on this kind of narcissism. You can't really devote your life to making art if you don't have it.

"Information Wants To Be Free. Information also wants to be expensive.Information wants to be free because it has become so cheap to distribute, copy, and recombine—too cheap to meter. It wants to be expensive because it can be immeasurably valuable to the recipient. That tension will not go away. It leads to endless wrenching debate about price, copyright, ‘intellectual property,’ the moral rightness of casual distribution, because each round of new devices makes the tension worse, not better.

Well, it's like..
Alice wants to be a singer/songwriter when she's older. However she's convinced she can't produce anything good now as she's too young, inexperienced and with no life-experiences to draw on. I told her she doesn't *need* those, just a level of empathy, perhaps. Also, you have to produce the rub to get to producing the good.
Anyways, she's insistent she wants to audition for BGTalen' and I said "being a good singer ain't enough, you nee to write". So she did. and damn, she's good!

Mommas of Daughters,Remember… they called her a distraction. Even when he took the field in a team sport.Even when she sat on the sidelines.Even when the cameras panned to her.Even when she is successful in her own right as a solo artist.Even when the franchise made money off of her.Even when the male dominated industry used her presence to bring itself out of years of declining popularity. She was the distraction. Remember? When society decided it was totally acceptable to call women distractions, remind them that what society is really trying to say is that they are still afraid of women with power. Mommas of Daughters, teach them to enter the room, the arena, any space with heads held high and a peace of mind that their distraction won’t warrant any type of reaction from her.✍️: Backwards N High Heels

Like I like Taylor, think there was definitely misogyny present amongst male fans who complained about her presence or would call Kelce things like "cuck". I think their relationship is cute. I enjoyed watching her celebrate at games. People who are bothered by it can grow up.
But JFC, the NFL's income has increased every year except 2020, and this year's TV ratings during the regular season were the second highest in recorded history. So suggesting she singlehandedly saved football is hilarious.
