if: Ouendan with classic Final Fantasy music, a couple of extra gameplay touches, and levels upon levels of RPG complications which are mostly there to take or leave as the mood goes - all good things. It gets the difficulty curve just right as well, from initial introduction through to full on concentration and desperation. The point when I realised that this game had really got to me was when I was watching a Paralympic medal ceremony and started picturing the Brazilian national anthem as a series of taps and swishes.

I didn't get the minecraft release date wrong did I? Pretty sure it did come out in 2012, can't remember the rules on incorporating last year's votes though. Anyway I agree that it's not a fun game, but it lets you turn off the game parts, and then it's a very fun play set to hang out in with kids.

it would break some kind of gamers' honour code i am sure, but i would love to see some combined ilxor hours logged #s for all these games

I'm actually sort of surprised waking mars didn't get more votes -- it did pretty well among a segment of critics. Maybe just not a lot of room for long-form games on ios?

Oh man, I had no idea 2K couldn't get the rights to use John Stockton's likeness and had to settle for Chris Kattan.

So I was the only vote for Analogue, huh? I was somewhat disappointed (think I've said on every possible thread that it's nowhere near as good as Digital) but I still thought it was worth a reasonable vote. It's much much better than most 'Visual Novel' type things.

wow, nobody else played NBA 2K13? that game kinda blew my mind! of course, I haven't played an NBA game in like ten years, so... but still!

I played the demo for NBA 2K13 and thought it was their best in years. But I haven't seen it for cheap -- missed the Black Friday deals -- so I haven't picked it up yet.

i felt like digital was the perfect amount of gameplay to storytelling. analogue was just a giant text dump at times. she needs an editor.

POCKET PLANES that was gaming to me in 2K12 for better & mostly for worse

these animations are great.

really glad i got off the pocket planes early on when an idevice died. at least with the other time-waster pellet dispensers you can run out of things to do pretty quick. pocket planes quickly ramped up to where you could be managing yr. planes all day nonstop.

my life this term has been Pocket Planes IRL so I appreciated the mappiness of it. I am basically a sucker for games that have real world maps involved essentially in the game play (cf. Plague Inc)

its a game that invites min/maxing but at the same time makes you ask why you're reallly bothering. that article linked is pretty good on the topic, i guess, but more positive about it.

...yeah, i am at a loss at how i spent so much time on Pocket Planes and Tiny Tower. don't really regret it, but i'm kinda glad to be out of the addiction cycle as well

someday i'll get around to playing Analogue just so i can yell at you guys for overrating Digital

i could see myself (regretting) getting lost in pocket planes so i will steer wide of that.

Pinball Arcade was my vote, and I'm surprised I was the only vote. All of the pinball machines in the game are simulations of real machines, using the actual layouts, sounds, and animations.
