anybody wanna, like, trade teams?

hstencil, Saturday, 5 April 2003 00:16 (twenty-one years ago) link

Mmmmmmmaybe.

David R. (popshots75`), Saturday, 5 April 2003 00:17 (twenty-one years ago) link

Oh yeah, y'all get really quiet when I'm tied for first. If Ausmus keeps up his 128 home run pace, I am set!

bnw (bnw), Saturday, 5 April 2003 15:32 (twenty-one years ago) link

*a cricket chirps*

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Saturday, 5 April 2003 16:19 (twenty-one years ago) link

Felicity's comin on up. Still want to do that trade? :D

Someone answer me this: how does a catcher commit TWO errors 4 games into the season???

Leee (Leee), Saturday, 5 April 2003 16:50 (twenty-one years ago) link

Congrats bnw! The Skinny Pups know hwat they are doing. I'm just happy if I am leading ILB in Ks. All else is gravy.

You know the trade might not be so bad, except I was confused, I thought Graves was still closing. Maybe he should be! Hooray for Carlos Zambrano and Juan Cruz.

James Blount (James Blount), Monday, 7 April 2003 01:20 (twenty-one years ago) link

Brett Myers had a nice outing today though so I'm not too traumatized.

James Blount (James Blount), Monday, 7 April 2003 02:04 (twenty-one years ago) link

Will trade starting pitching for OPS.

felicity (felicity), Monday, 7 April 2003 03:52 (twenty-one years ago) link

Yanc3y did you listen to me about taking Bret Myers for your keeper league? Why do I think the answer is "no"?

felicity (felicity), Monday, 7 April 2003 04:05 (twenty-one years ago) link

felicity check out my pulsating throbbing OPS.

Adam Kennedy 1.000
Albert "Will be traded for an iPod" Pujols 1.206
Kevin "Not Mueller" Millar 1.528
Ray Durham "Bull" 1.032
Brad Fullmer 1.1417
Jeff Liefer 0.955

Leee (Leee), Monday, 7 April 2003 04:43 (twenty-one years ago) link

Obviously that should read Ray "Bull" Durham. I'm tired.

Leee (Leee), Monday, 7 April 2003 04:44 (twenty-one years ago) link

Has anyone picked up Rocco Baldelli yet? He's a hittin machine.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 7 April 2003 11:43 (twenty-one years ago) link

After starting the season in second place I'm now in 10th and have taken to drink.

They say the season is a marathon and not a sprint but I say it's a really long sprint (over 20 miles) that should be named after an ancient Greecian battle.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Monday, 7 April 2003 11:45 (twenty-one years ago) link

Well I'm still in first place! Might as well enjoy it while it lasts!

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 7 April 2003 13:16 (twenty-one years ago) link

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 7 April 2003 13:18 (twenty-one years ago) link

I am second to last and desperately in need of speed and saves. At this point I'd be willing to trade any of: Olerud, Spivey, Matsui, Luis Gonzalez, Wakefield, Radke, K. Rogers, Tomko, etc.

Make an offer!

mark p (Mark P), Monday, 7 April 2003 13:26 (twenty-one years ago) link

Brett Myers was protected from last year, felicity. We already talked about him!!! Just cuz I ditched yr lover boy you've colored me a fool! PHSHAW!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Monday, 7 April 2003 14:02 (twenty-one years ago) link

so four of my players injured themselves this weekend...

Anyone attending any home openers today?

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 7 April 2003 15:24 (twenty-one years ago) link

home opener in Cleveland postponed. :^(

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Monday, 7 April 2003 15:43 (twenty-one years ago) link

Going on Friday to the Red Sox home opener.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 7 April 2003 15:51 (twenty-one years ago) link

I was supposed to go to the Cubs, but it got snowed out! Good heavens, it's spring already.

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Monday, 7 April 2003 16:17 (twenty-one years ago) link

So is Peter Gammons indie as fuck?

"The Smiths' "Panic" may be playing on every FM station from Bangor to Block Island and supermarket register clerks know that there are eight active relievers with more career saves than the combined 187 career saves of The Committee."

http://espn.go.com/gammons/s/2003/0407/1534974.html

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Monday, 7 April 2003 17:45 (twenty-one years ago) link

The Committee is sweet. Bwahhaha.

Chris V. (Chris V), Monday, 7 April 2003 17:50 (twenty-one years ago) link

Damn... Peter Gammons just earned some major points for that one.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Monday, 7 April 2003 17:57 (twenty-one years ago) link

My team's motto is now "You know what you doing."

bnw (bnw), Monday, 7 April 2003 18:06 (twenty-one years ago) link

i got baldelli! the waiver wire worked for me! also keeping my mouth shut about him becoming available did

maura (maura), Monday, 7 April 2003 18:16 (twenty-one years ago) link

ps i think like every game north of the mason dixon line today has been rained/snowed out. the pittsburgh game was just called.

maura (maura), Monday, 7 April 2003 18:17 (twenty-one years ago) link

Jose Cruz, Jr. welcome to San Francisco.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 7 April 2003 20:12 (twenty-one years ago) link

I just looked at our rankings closely for the first time, and I'm doing well in nearly every category but errors and fielding percentage. My boys need bigger mitts!

Yanc3y (ystrickler), Monday, 7 April 2003 20:20 (twenty-one years ago) link

My pitching was rocking until Rodrigo Lopez spit the bit yesterday - 17 total bases!!! Bite me Rod!

That's ok tho, I will still continue my slow creep up the standings...

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Monday, 7 April 2003 20:57 (twenty-one years ago) link

how often do the day-of stats get updated? It's showing no results for any of my players, but all three of my Braves* had at least a hit.

*never thought I'd ever refer to somebody on that team as "my braves." Ugh.

hstencil, Monday, 7 April 2003 21:12 (twenty-one years ago) link

They are updated in almost-real time, except today no stats are being registered.

Leee (Leee), Monday, 7 April 2003 21:15 (twenty-one years ago) link

i think that's because the real-time updates are now a premium add-on

maura (maura), Monday, 7 April 2003 21:25 (twenty-one years ago) link

Yeah, they tease you the first week, bastards.

bnw (bnw), Monday, 7 April 2003 21:31 (twenty-one years ago) link

awwww... i didn't notice that change this year.

when i get back i'll look into a mid-season upgrade.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 7 April 2003 21:33 (twenty-one years ago) link

The other league I'm in finally got started, and I still can't get any pitching.

aurilia who? (3 HRs last 2 days)

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 7 April 2003 21:59 (twenty-one years ago) link

Basically, I need to know which of my current pitchers to waive, what free agents to pick up etc.

Leee (Leee), Monday, 7 April 2003 22:00 (twenty-one years ago) link

My team's motto is now "You know what you doing."

I think it should be "You know hwat you doing."

I am lousy with Ks, ERA and WHIP. All I need is some of this stupid "offense" I keep hearing about. Who wants David Wells?

felicity (felicity), Monday, 7 April 2003 23:59 (twenty-one years ago) link

Damn... Felix Rodriguez got rocked tonight and his ERA is now 8.31... wonder how long it'll take for him to get that back to normal. On the plus side, Barry Bonds isn't hitting too good but got a SB and my team is STILL error-free! Whee.

Aaron W (Aaron W), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 01:16 (twenty-one years ago) link

it's gettin' hwat in herre

bnw (bnw), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 02:21 (twenty-one years ago) link

Glad to see people on the Baldelli ballsack. He'll be droppable in a month, I bet.

Chris V. (Chris V), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 10:31 (twenty-one years ago) link

The S.S. Pocket has hit an iceberg called lack of HR production and is mixing metaphors faster than a Baez split finger in a vacuum.

Amazingly enough, due to the weather only two of my players saw action yesterday- one went 3 for 4 and the other got a save. I still dropped a place in the standings.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 11:55 (twenty-one years ago) link

Leave it to the I Love Baseball crew to make the thread a self-deprecate-off instead of a throwdown.

/indie guilt

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:21 (twenty-one years ago) link

just dialing in from mars to report that Rich Aurilia is the #8 offensive player season to date</chortle on this>

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:34 (twenty-one years ago) link

I wear Pockets on the outside because pockets is how I feel on the inside.

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 8 April 2003 12:39 (twenty-one years ago) link

I need to overhaul my team -- 7 ERRORS?!?!?

Leee (Leee), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 04:15 (twenty-one years ago) link

What's OPS?

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Wednesday, 9 April 2003 12:02 (twenty-one years ago) link
