I think the only accounts I've ever blocked have been spambots, but it honestly never occurred to me that they would not be able to read my tweets as a result. I just wanted to get them off my screen.

i mean, i've only blocked spambots and don't habitually receive abuse, but...it never occurred to you how commonplace that was?

I've never been sent anything beyond polite disagreement, but the rapey Twit abuse received by some feminists of my acquaintance is staggering.

who blocks the most people? Graham Linehan? He's a serial blocker, I think anyone who dares suggest that Count Arthur Strong/The IT Crowd aren't the pinnacle of comedy get blocked ASAP.

I was just thinking of him. We used to be friends, but I think if I met him 'fresh' now I wouldn't like him very much. He's turned into this rich white guy who throws hissies when people have the audacity to contradict him.

tbh i always thought that's how blocking worked, that you never knew you were blocked and could tweet at someone who blocked you without them knowing, like a killfile. it seems kind of silly to prevent someone from following someone else, if they really want to stalk the person they can just make another account

It does, and most apps should as well. Not sure if the official twitter app does though. Tweetbot certainly does.
