I will e-mail you tonight lucy

soul provider (Cozen), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 14:53 (nineteen years ago)

Okey dokey.

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 14:57 (nineteen years ago)

Health update: Stet has caught it.

the big wuss :)

re friday: i'll be at the restaurant for 8pm. mädchen: don't let stet do his usual trick of being three hours late. and hmmm - looking forward to seeing you again after all these years!

actually, looking at that list: the HmmOnimo dual-headed monster sounds scary.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 15:00 (nineteen years ago)

Where are we meeting in town for a non-southsider drink?

Stew (stew s), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 18:17 (nineteen years ago)

Just spoke to David. He can't confirm either way until tomorrow I'm afraid.

I'm not bothered where we meet for drinks. Ideally, it would be somewhere good that I haven't been before and would preferably be towards the west end but I really don't mind if it's not.

hmmm (hmmm), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 19:38 (nineteen years ago)

Cozen is in real trouble.

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 19:45 (nineteen years ago)

would preferably be towards the west end

noooo! you'll all be late enough as it is ;)

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:04 (nineteen years ago)

I think Grimly has a point and we should stick to the city centre, or maybe the Merchant City?

Mädchen (Madchen), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:07 (nineteen years ago)

Mono!

stet (stet), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:38 (nineteen years ago)

I'm not that interested in what you've caught.

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:44 (nineteen years ago)

"Change settings to default?" Y

Ally C (Ally C), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 20:44 (nineteen years ago)

I've got band practice till 9 on Friday, so I'm not going to be able to go along.

scotstvo (scotstvo), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 23:26 (nineteen years ago)

You'll catch it, Alba

stet (stet), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 23:29 (nineteen years ago)

Mono is quite handy for hopping into a taxi to the south side, being near the river and all...
Just a shame they've done away with the weissbier on tap. Ochone, ochone...

Stew (stew s), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 23:30 (nineteen years ago)

the bottled organic lager rules, though. esp the reidenburger (sp).

the bottled organic cider is, er, interesting. mädchen will be able to talk more about the effects it had on me.

"apparently robert plant is going to be there!"
"yes, you just said that. twice."
[beat]
"apparently robert plant is going to be there!"

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 23:43 (nineteen years ago)

I was going to say something very similar. Except it made me helpless apart from mumbling, so I don't have an amusing anecdote.

stet (stet), Tuesday, 8 November 2005 23:55 (nineteen years ago)

I am flying from prestwick at 0715 on thurs

the first train gets there at, like, 0643

there is a bus that gets there at, like, 0530 (leaving buchanan st at 0445)

anyone know of anything better?

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 00:56 (nineteen years ago)

i'm afraid not. i had to stay with my sister in Ayrshire the night before i flew out and she drove me there early.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 00:58 (nineteen years ago)

ah well, 0445 from buchanan st it is

more time at prestwick, I suppose!!!

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 01:02 (nineteen years ago)

i didn't know about the 4.45 though so that's useful. luckily for you Prestwick a pure dead brilliant place to hang out.

jed_ (jed), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 01:06 (nineteen years ago)

haha, yeah, I never considered using prestwick until they introduced that slogan

or maybe I never considered not using it

either way--the power of marketing

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 01:18 (nineteen years ago)

Are you checking in bags, RJG? If not, I've got on flights with about ten minutes to go at Prestwick.

stet (stet), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 01:28 (nineteen years ago)

REALLY...

hm

I could TRY not to have bags. it would be handy. I will see

ten minutes? how accurate is that? checked in how many mins before scheduled departure?

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 01:32 (nineteen years ago)

It was about a year ago, I turned up all sweaty, with 11 minutes to departure time, skipped the ticket desk queue and said "I'm not checking bags, can I just get on" and she pointed me in the right direction. I skipped the security queue, and that was it. Got some scowls on board, tho.

stet (stet), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 01:36 (nineteen years ago)

yeah, better not

was just thinking: best not rely on trains

shame, if you're supposed to be there 40 mins before and I would, in theory, be there 32 mins before

I can read a book, probably

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 01:37 (nineteen years ago)

If there is a spare place going on Friday, my pal Ryan who some of you have met would quite like to come along too. So he can be on the subs list if it drops below whatever number we actually settle on.

RJG, if my car hadn't broken down I'd have given you a lift - I love the road to Prestwick at that time in the morning. I have done it a couple of times for friends/family.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 10:25 (nineteen years ago)

RJG, as long as you are there 25 mins before an internal flight, you'll get away with it...anything after 25 mins and they are bastards and don't let you on...

How come you lot have faps everytime I'm not gonna be around....tis a conspiracy I tell ya!

smee (smee), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 10:48 (nineteen years ago)

I'm not going to be there on Friday :-(

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 11:03 (nineteen years ago)

Oh, there you are, save me sending you an email/text. I've got an unexpected day off today, so will just be driving to the football in the mister's car tonight - let me know if you want me to pick you up somewhere/give you a lift home.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 11:05 (nineteen years ago)

have fun folksies! i'll miss you!
(and mono? god you're uncreative. you should do the victoria bar! or clutha vaults!)

dahlin (dahlin), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 11:45 (nineteen years ago)

god you're uncreative.

The thing about Mono is that it is fucking excellent. It was a significant factor in my decision to move through here.

hmmm (hmmm), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 12:41 (nineteen years ago)

Horrible wine though.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 12:44 (nineteen years ago)

I still don't quite know what to make of Mono. It needs the full range of Sam Smiths, a lower ceiling, different chairs and tables and proper food. The homemade lemonade, ginger beer and that new berry drink I tried the other night are aces though, as is Monorail. It's easy for me to get to as well, being close to the number 40 route.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 12:47 (nineteen years ago)

ailsa I emailed your gmail

Onimo (GerryNemo), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 13:00 (nineteen years ago)

Cheers.

Can it not be Mono please? I think we should find somewhere new for a change. Also if we went somewhere central we could get buses/train to the south side rather than getting taxis.

ailsa (ailsa), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 13:08 (nineteen years ago)

Don't take any risks, RJG!

I am getting an 11.30am train to catch a 6.30pm flight. So I had better take a book too.

It seems like Glasgow has stepped up the fapping a lot since I left.

I really like Mono, but they need more and better chairs, and yes, Madchen is right, proper food. Who are the people on the ceiling supposed to be?

Cathy (Cathy), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 13:47 (nineteen years ago)

If there's four or five of us in each cab it'll be cheaper than the bus. But yeah, I agree not Mono this time. I would love to nab the snug at the back of the Steps, but every time I suggest that pub there is some resistance.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 14:00 (nineteen years ago)

I'm running late, but I'll see you in there

stet (stet), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 15:06 (nineteen years ago)

one day when you say that, you're going to find yourself losing your nuts.

two hours later, when you finally turn up, that is.

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 15:59 (nineteen years ago)

Please don't remove his nuts thx.

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 16:07 (nineteen years ago)

Only two girls, and all those chaps. Internet communities, eh?

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 16:47 (nineteen years ago)

oh... have you booked it? : /

I forgot to e-mail because my heart was distracting

soul provider (Cozen), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 18:12 (nineteen years ago)

You and your bloody heart.

Alba (Alba), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 18:29 (nineteen years ago)

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 18:30 (nineteen years ago)

Please don't remove his nuts thx

i was rather thinking that you might snap and do it one day.

or is he on time for you? the bastard!

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 18:45 (nineteen years ago)

I'm only ever late when you're about GF, because it winds you up. I'm known for my timekeeping elsewhere

stet (stet), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 18:57 (nineteen years ago)

Cozen: I booked it weeks ago, but could phone up and change the booking. Are you definitely coming now?

Mädchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 9 November 2005 20:53 (nineteen years ago)
