There's got to be other barber alternatives reasonably convenient. I mean, having a barber in your building is the most convenient, but is there somewhere near work where you could go on a lunch break or someplace you could go in the evening?

Preface: I was complaining of an irrational reaction to other people stealing my lifehack of getting up early and being there before opening.

agh I have inherited a script which creates pdfs at work and I do not understand for the life of me how to get 1. the front page the same size as the other pages 2. the default zoom not to be like either 634509% or 0.3%

I mean the PDFs contain the display size of each element so I tried setting that to be roughly the same, right, but that didn't work (or I did it wrong)... so then I went "well this one is roughly 2.4 the size it needs to be so I'll divide both dimensions by 2.4" which I did first with just the numbers in the PDF file itself but that didn't work so then I resized the original input file and it came out a different size but not one-2.4th of the original, nooo

a bunch of random numbers later it looked okish on my screen but merely differently terrible on my coworker's screen

hate not understanding apparently simple tasks but it happens a lot at work lately, feel like I'm ready for the ice floe career-wise, but eh

i've never done it but i checked out of curiosity (sorry to be that guy) - you can set zoom % in preferences under page display

Just from a kobo using vantage, I fucking loathe PDF's which invariably always become fucking alphabet spaghetti when you convert them to ebook format.

Don't know if this has been mentioned, but clicking "Like" on FB to mean "I acknowledge having read this," even on things the clicker doesn't agree with. My wife does this...it makes me IRRATIONALLY ANGRY.

People who complain about condos

When ppl talk about musicians selling out/ethics of such as a thing that bands were into in the 80s/90s. The idea that this is 2015 and everyone sells out. No they don't! They just don't get free press for whining about McDonalds so you never hear about them

I don't know. Back in the 80s the Del Fuegos did a beer commercial and like 5 bands wrote songs about them being sell-outs. It was a different time.

Trying to work out why I suddenly can't access seemingly any new website through firefox this morning. Thought it was bad enough when avast was blocking me from getting onto Demonoid yesterday.
Not sure if the 2 things are closely interrelated or just coincidental but it's a major pain.
Seems like everything is timing out, even something as popular as Amazon.

So not sure if problem is my computer, Firefox acting up or Avast becoming over stringent. But it is preventing me from getting anywhere on the net today.

Paid some money into my savings account today and was given 20 questions because the cheque looked funny under their mysterious "illuminator" device, which it eventually turned out was probably because the chequebook was over a decade old (a combination of rarely using cheques and accidentally losing a chequebook, asking for a new one, and then finding the old one)

(is the illuminator just a UV light? wondering if I have a UV light to shine on my chequebook now. perhaps I should just go clubbing and bring a variety of chequebooks of various ages to inspect.)

(oh yeah I was transferring money into my ISA which is why the cheque was from my own chequebook)
