i met elvis telecom irl a week or two ago! he is a very nice man. all ilxors i meet irl are nice.

it is much harder to be a dick irl than it is to be a dick on the internets

Like to s/o the ilx takoma brigade crew, all very nice & supportive & knowledgeable folks who have done me a lot of good musically & personally

But overall, like honestly I know it's always been fashionable to dump on ilx or decry the precipitous decline etc, but on the whole it's fairly remarkable how generally nice & intelligent everyone is. Sometimes a Google search takes me into rougher waters & I'm blown away by how dumb & mean most of the net is.

I know I go off on weird tangents or seem to get overly upset at things sometimes, but I try and step away before accidentally personally attacking anyone. Even if I don't seem to agree with anything anyone says I appreciate everyone's contributions and this is a super chill place for the most part. I can't count the number of amazing videos or music or books or movies or ideas that I've been introduced to. Just wish I was a better writer/communicator in general...

I have enjoyed mookie and sloth's posts on the ncaa hoops thread as well. sloth also fantastic on the nba thread, where I generally keep quiet and let the grownups talk (feel like some ilx hoops chat is next level). Mordy is a favorite, of course. also, I am glad that clouds is back! and a shout out to everyone that posts on the what's cooking thread because I always learn so much.

love when sufjan pops into the basketball threads for sure

basically everyone on ILH worthy of shoutouts, all very smart & funny posters imo - the NBA is a major palliative to me amid a shitload of personal stress of late and those folks help me appreciate it all the more.

Need to also note that lagoon makes me crack up on the regular. Basically died at one of his end of year ilm poll posts in particular. The lagoon posting voice is also contagious.

not sure ive ever agreed with flopson as such, but I think he/she is maybe the most convincing debater on the site and I'd pay to read on just about any subject

Karl Malone (Jazz forward): Michael had a really intense, competitive look to him, but I wasn’t worried. The only things that worry me are dogs with foggy eyes and the possibility of gravity giving out while I’m standing under a ceiling fan.
