This at least I remember. Not my preferred means of making that thread, but it'll do.

you prefer every one else's backhanded compliments about you?
― sarahell, Saturday, 21 November 2015 19:32 (ten years ago)
I prefer to have made it via a more coruscating (I had to look that up) demonstration of predictive genius, whether or not ostentatiously in character.
― Comprehensive Nuclear Suggest-Ban Theory (benbbag), Saturday, 21 November 2015 22:42 (ten years ago)
Hey Iago I think you're a real nice poster too! Actually think all the music threads I follow are full of nice people.

i know he probably doesn't need anymore board love, and it's not like i actually know him, but big ups to surmounter for two reasons:(1): he seems like one of the only other serious mariah carey fans around here besides me, and it's important that mariah die-hards stick together!; and(2): he's adorable! (i mean that in a platonic way)
k. i'm new. i'll quit talking about how much i like all you big galutes before this gets any weirder!
― potential trouble source (monster mash), Sunday, 22 November 2015 21:11 (ten years ago)
It's OK. I'll send you glossy 5X7 photos and my Carey playlist.

if only i could start threads that would elicit long and thoughtful posts from the likes of j., merdeyeux, schlump, and difficult listening hour--all scary smart posters i've learned a lot from and i wish posted a lot more.
― ryan, Sunday, 22 November 2015 21:18 (ten years ago)

― Treeship, Sunday, 22 November 2015 23:01 (ten years ago)
His gardener is Xgau
― Hammer Smashed Bagels, Sunday, 22 November 2015 23:07 (ten years ago)

While we butt heads occasionally, Mordy is a good guy, esp when I talk to him outside of ILX.
― a man a plan alive (man alive), Thursday, 26 May 2016 03:07 (nine years ago)
mordy is one of my favorite posters and possibly the most otm in the election thread
― marcos, Thursday, 26 May 2016 03:14 (nine years ago)
Polymathic and generous of spirit
― a man a plan alive (man alive), Thursday, 26 May 2016 03:15 (nine years ago)
I think I felt the need to say that because I needlessly zinged him over the morbs beef
― a man a plan alive (man alive), Thursday, 26 May 2016 03:16 (nine years ago)
morbius is not a toxic presence on ilx at all.

I've thought of Mordy as one of ilx's strongest posters for a long time tbh

I am a mordy optimist, and I say we will continue to discover untapped mordy reserves in the frontiers of ilx
― bonita pooleymoon (Sufjan Grafton), Thursday, 26 May 2016 22:42 (nine years ago)
peak mordy is 100, maybe 200 years out
Mordy wrote this on thread Conventional Mealy Mouths: The 2016 Primary Voting Thread, Part 5 on board I Love Everything on 25-May-2016that argument only makes sense if your self-conceptialization is entirely as a lone independent actor - in which case one solitary vote does not participate in any meaningful way in the political process. however there is such thing as a society and we are not just independent actors but part of large collectives of self-interest, identity and affiliation and the only reason why NY is a stable blue state is because there are a whole bunch of "independent actors" who go and vote and make it that. you have to be dripping w/ self-aggrandizement to not understand that your participation in the vote matters not bc you alone get to make the decision but bc /you/ collectively do. i wonder if other countries have this "your vote doesn't matter" argument or if it can only exist in the context of america's radical cult of individualism.
