people having long screaming fights in public with their S.O. ... on their phones.
There was a college-age girl doing this in Park Slope, squatting on the sidewalk, the other night, *across the street* from where i was using the ATM. I could hear every word. I gave her a broad smile and yelled "You don't have to yell when you have a phone, asshole!" Made my evening.

i hate the fairly recent thing in social media where an image is cut down to fit the template so you click it expecting a full-size version to open up as an overlay or whatever you call it, and it does open up as that but it's... smaller ???? because they cram the whole picture into the window rather than letting you scroll
especially in twitter, where they also need to fit in the tweet itself so the picture is just tiny

How unrandom the 'shuffle' function is on just about any music player application. I know true randomness is very difficult to achieve but every time I to listen to my catalog on shuffle it's 3 songs off the same album in the first twenty songs, out of thousands of albums!?

I briefly ran a perforation machine at a paper factory after high school, so I get this way about perforations in general that don't work the way they're supposed to. And I think you're right that this didn't used to happen in the good old days. But I can confirm that, while a properly-calibrated perforation doesn't happen on its own, it ain't that effing hard to pull off if you have, like, any motivation whatsoever.

Worst with the tear here shit is where its a glued-down foil lid with a little tab, and you pull at the "tear here" tab and it just comes off.

I installed a VPN adblocker in iOS and that solved a fair bit of that. Not all, but much of it. The only drawback is the VPN blocks all apps not just safari/chrome, so it makes siri not work, among other things. I can live with that tho.

Just wondering, is Windows 10 a blight to a lot of people? I keep finding things buffering when i go to do nearly anything. Don't think it was as bad on Windows 7. So wondering if t might be a better thing to go back to that.
Is there a beta element to the system? Was it released before they ironed out all the kinks.

I watched The Simpsons a few weeks ago (when Scharpling and Wurster did guest voices), and I was IA that the characters were occasionally fucking around on cellphones and half paying attention to other people talking. Like, I get that that's real life, and I have no attachment to modern day Simpsons, but it felt so irritatingly out of place on the show I've missed the last fifteen seasons of.
Like I said, it's been a few weeks and it's still stuck in my craw. Hardcore IA.

I did upgrade one of my computers to Windows 10, found that nothing worked because there were no drivers and promptly reinstalled Windows 7. Of course it still reminds me constantly to upgrade to Windows 10.
Anyway that's not why I'm here. I'm here because why it is impossible for flat-pack furniture companies to deliver all the parts necessary to assemble their furniture? It's taken them over a week to deliver our sofa and 4 pieces of wood are missing now it finally got here. It seems this happens all the time, you'd think they'd check.

Is there any reuse value in a stolen tv satellite reception dish as in the kind of thing that Sky use? I'm just wondering why I would see one in the top of a bush as i walked to the bus stop earlier.Or alternatively, one of those things has got too much weight on it to be blown in anything short of a hurricane from the side of a building to a bush that's about 200 foot away from even the closest house isn't there?
Maybe the fact that that is puzzling me is the most annoying bit. But fact is there was this object that I would think was probably too heavy to be blown to where i saw it earlier. Wind had been howling loudly through whatever gaps in the building I live in make that howling noise anyway. So my first thought was that it might have blown there but now I'm thinking it would be too heavy. But maybe they are lighter than they look so they don't cause damage should they be blown off in a storm anyway? But I'm thinking that flight trajectory for a loose one is either vertically down or parabolically down
― Stevolende, Sunday, 10 April 2016 20:49 (eight years ago) link
resale value thing there was me wondering if the dish had been stashed. it was in the top of a bush about 6foot plus off the ground which had me wondering if it had blown there.
