I just followed you

the last famous person you were surprised to discover was actually (man alive), Friday, 23 September 2016 17:27 (nine years ago)

Ah, ok. Was wondering who that was.

pplains, Saturday, 24 September 2016 00:55 (nine years ago)

Feel like there's a critical moment of Twitter success where you turn off email notifications because they become too overwhelming. I have not reached that point and probably will not ever

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Saturday, 24 September 2016 01:01 (nine years ago)

i was touched by the fact that nicholson baker follows back.

marcos, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 00:06 (nine years ago)

If Google buys Twitter, there’s a perfect spot for it in YouTube

five years later, facebook will fuck the goog and then we'll all be part of the same adopted family

I look forward to hearing from you shortly, (Karl Malone), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 15:22 (nine years ago)

lol pundit synergy dreams

lag∞n, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 15:29 (nine years ago)

was really hoping to see an offer from BloopBlorp

the last famous person you were surprised to discover was actually (man alive), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 15:46 (nine years ago)

31 followers, damn this is uphill

the last famous person you were surprised to discover was actually (man alive), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 19:54 (nine years ago)

one problem I may face is being too concentrated in one or two subspheres of twitter, think I need to broaden out a little

the last famous person you were surprised to discover was actually (man alive), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 19:55 (nine years ago)

tbh I have more followers and I am sure 90% of them are straight garbage, really need to delete all these ones that are pretty much bots

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 19:56 (nine years ago)

180 followers btw

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 19:56 (nine years ago)

137 for me but it's people in my field and definitely some bots. using it for work and during conferences (there are like who sub-conferences happening on twitter whenever i go to a conference) makes it easier to get followers

marcos, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:02 (nine years ago)

oh lol apparently my cousin's kid's twitter name is
@mylastname_mh

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:03 (nine years ago)

only content is two retweets and one is about loving thick girls

yea. also too sometimes i debate whether to post something to twitter or to facebook and i cant decide, it would be nice to just have them integrated in some kind of way idk

marcos, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:04 (nine years ago)

oh shit some girl I almost went on a date w/from tinder follows me on twitter wtf

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:04 (nine years ago)

I really need to look through these lists more often, guys

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:04 (nine years ago)

if google really buys it I'm jumping the fuck out

the last famous person you were surprised to discover was actually (man alive), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:08 (nine years ago)

yeah me too

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:08 (nine years ago)

just unfollowed all the CHAPOTRAPHOUSE dudes. I figure their funny non-podcast promotional tweets will still get retweeted into my feed

why?

flopson, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:18 (nine years ago)

because Google can eat a dick and I don't use their shitty services...? That goes for Facebook too.

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:22 (nine years ago)

it might be a harbinger of it turning into complete shit but tbh the end-times days of services are usually really entertaining

lol ok tuff guy

flopson, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:24 (nine years ago)

google and facebook have some pretty good things imo

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:25 (nine years ago)

mainly because google is terrible about privacy and anonymity

the last famous person you were surprised to discover was actually (man alive), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:30 (nine years ago)

I have no need for either

xp

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:35 (nine years ago)

Facebook sucks. google seems unavoidable to me but i guess if you were keen on it you could find ways to get around using any of its features. how do you, like, look up directions, shakey?

flopson, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:46 (nine years ago)

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:50 (nine years ago)

apple maps is p good now too

illegal economic migration (Tracer Hand), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:53 (nine years ago)

Google is already indexing all your tweets and they're available in search so

Cumstaun (Phil D.), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:53 (nine years ago)

yeah but Google links your accounts on various platforms

the last famous person you were surprised to discover was actually (man alive), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:55 (nine years ago)

there are a ton of different map/search engines/whatever. acting like Google is the only one is sad.

I'm not interested in having all of my various doings linked to a single Google account, I will never do it.

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:56 (nine years ago)

Yeah I use Google search rarely (DuckDuckGo mostly) and Google anything else never (other than at work, on my work account). My old gmail is still accruing marketing email that I check on every six months or so.

slathered in cream and covered with stickers (silby), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:56 (nine years ago)

I'm all in on iCloud

slathered in cream and covered with stickers (silby), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:57 (nine years ago)

the only Google thing I willingly did was set up a youtube account for my band's videos and I even that I don't like doing/only did out of obligation

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:57 (nine years ago)

I do not "netflix and chill" as I prefer to use platforms unencumbered by digital rights management

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:57 (nine years ago)

xp yeah that's my issue, the way it hooks up your gmail, your youtube, even non google-based email accounts, drive, calendar etc. I'm starting to disentangle myself from all of it although it's tough bc of the convenience.

the last famous person you were surprised to discover was actually (man alive), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 20:58 (nine years ago)

they're insanely clumsy at cross-platform aggregation and half the shit, even things they bought long ago like youtube, have different content policies

most of what you're getting is one sign-in to a bunch of sites, which is pretty ok

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 21:03 (nine years ago)

(enable two factor authentication, though, in case there's some sort of yahoo-style idiocy)

dr. mercurio arboria (mh 😏), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 21:04 (nine years ago)

openstreetmap dudes

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenStreetMap

kind of hoping google buys twitter that way a lot of users jump ship because of not wanting to give google too much of their info

plus google has had many failed projects and i'm hoping this track record will help drive twitter down

F♯ A♯ (∞), Tuesday, 27 September 2016 21:05 (nine years ago)

OSM is a good group but I follow a handful of people connected to the project and they're really trying to position their efforts as far as getting people to volunteer to update things, block-by-block. They're really in the phase between being an enthusiast tool for data projects and being an enterprise-grade map provider for things like personal navigation
