I'm kind of stalled out at the moment at 39 followers and my top tweet hit 40 likes. This game is hard.

39 still seems to be way below what you need for retweet reach, so I'm still at the point where only replies get retweeted or favd more than 2x.

40 likes with only 39 followers is actually very impressive

I haven't been excelsiored in 416 days but I did get an otm last Thursday, so there's reason to keep living

all of these tweets about donating to the NC republicans to help them (!!) after someone firebombed their office are really something

fuck giving money to NCGOP obvs but could be a smart move strategically to loudly take make a big show of taking higher ground on something like this in face of all the brutal shit Trump supporters are going to do (and he's going to applaud)

I mean, you know, if a Trump campaign worker was killed in the firebombing and people were donating to a gofundme to support his kids or something, maybe that's be "rising above differences." But this was a fucking insured building. What a bunch of rubes.

And really I think the fact that any liberals think this off-the-mark "good faith" act of pointless kindness would do anything to "heal the divide" or whatever just shows how naive and unprepared they are for the fight they are facing.

I said it myself on twitter, but if there is an olive branch to be extended to people in that group, this is not it. Outreach works best on a person-to-person basis. Having dinner and polite discussion with some NC republicans and a handful of your transgender friends might help you come to an understanding. Facelessly giving money to people halfway across the country because someone who is in no way associated with you did them harm, that is probably going to be covered by insurance, is asinine.

Maybe people have some false guilt about it? idk, I guess if you felt a little happy they were firebombed and are giving them cash to feel better about it, then maybe you need to work on divorcing your feelings from actions you had no part of

- you're not allied with people that destroy offices
- you're a sympathetic human being
- liberals are people too
