Eh? Rob owned Survivor when he was on it (Survivor All-Stars), and now he's owning Amazing Race.

On paper (whatever that means, just go with the term for now) R&A are the clear front-runners and nobody is even close to them. Teams that were looking sneaky and dangerous in the first couple of weeks are now gone (Secret Lesbians, Susan and Patrick). The brothers are strong, but they're too prone to major fuckups (looks like next week will bring the fuckup to end all fuckups). The grandparents have no chance. Ray=Jonathan from last season, except that Jon was an asshole but he was also a very good racer, whereas Ray is just an asshole. The Gay Boys are the most annoying thing on TV right now, competing with R&A in silly paddle races within the race that exist only in their own mind and then bragging about it for four hours afterward.

Rob and Amber are the shit.

Can we get scare quotes around "Beauty Queen"? After Christie, Nicole and then Kendra, this year's pageant chick is a big step down in looks.

Also, Uchenna and POW are both tremendous goobers, though U. hasn't done anything dickfaced enough to warrant anything beyond mild amusement.

What's ILE's take on Amber & Rob re: Pull Over-gate? Should they have stopped? They could have at least yelled out the window like the other teams did, although the difference between doing that and just driving by was minimal in terms of the outcome of the stage.

Between this and the dude on local public access wearing a Yankees Suck t-shirt and a Red Sox cap and ranting about how unfair it is they charge ya long distance to call from Prahvidence to Wahwick Rhodylin, it was a wicked awesome night of TV.

As for Rob and Amber, they totally should have pulled over and rolled down the window. Losing 30 seconds in a race to pretend they have a heart wouldn't have killed them.

Riiiiiight.

I love how Ray and Deanna, even WITH that fast forward, lost, seemingly only because Ray is a douche and was more interested in making Deanna feel bad about herself than grinding corn. What a fuckstick!

Oh, and I love how dude kept saying "Meredith and whatshisname" and finally his wife was like "Meredith is the GUY".

It was so sweet to see them philiminated. I especially like how Gretchen and Meredith outlasted them, after all of Ray's trashtalking about them being too old and weak to be in the race.

The brothers deserve gigantic medals made of candy for PWNing Ray The Fuckstick and his gimpy non-running legs.

Meanwhile Uchenna and Joyce looked like they were getting TURNED ON watching each other do that. "Ew, yeah baby, WORK THAT STICK."

Lynn and Alex suck. I can't wait for them to get Philiminated. STOP OBSESSING OVER ROB AND AMBER AND RACE, YOU FUCKSTICKS.

Yeah, they're great! I was sad when it looked like they were out of the race, it was fantastic when they were able to beat Ray and Deana at the last minute.

i disagree! if anything i'd like to see people be a little bit MORE cutthroat -- that's what i liked so much about rob and amber early on. and to be honest i don't understand why everyone's giving the old people money -- it's not like they got mugged, they came in last.

He didn't act the victim. Obviously anyone would be pissed off about the taxi incident, so he said his piece about it and then carried on racing. OTOH, when the Gay Boys think somebody has looked at them funny, they complain about it for the next two episodes.

Um, no. Setting aside the screwing over vis a vis the taxi incident, you would have finished in exactly the same spot. The difference between R&A rolling down the window and not stopping is 30 seconds. The difference between doing Water and doing Food at the detour looked to be about an hour.

I think I noticed her eye was already bad and swollen the day before, after that (god-awful) fast-forward high-wire stunt (no way I could have done that). I'm thinking it was either (1) bee sting? (2) allergic reaction or (3) stress reaction.

I was speaking more about her split lip when I mentioned the pounder than I was her eye. My wife thought the eye thing was a stress-induced facial tic.
