The Crusher of Dreams

i bet his voice is lower-pitched than dott's

watching the nugget hold on.

robertson will win this whole thing. i hope.
― sausage s4rgent (acoleuthic), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 13:54 (sixteen years ago)
pourquoi?
― Times New Excels At (jim in glasgow), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 13:56 (sixteen years ago)
i like the way he plays! plus to have beaten gould the way he did...the winner of that match needs to win, to placate me
o'sullivan-selby is a great match, by the looks of it. two other players i wouldn't begrudge this year's title.
― sausage s4rgent (acoleuthic), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 13:57 (sixteen years ago)
yeah idk why i'm watching steve davis tbh. well other than it will probably end soon and i can change over.
― Times New Excels At (jim in glasgow), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 14:00 (sixteen years ago)
robertson used to be fat
― naglian dialectics 101 (cozen), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 14:00 (sixteen years ago)
ronnie doing a bit of referee-bullying
― sausage s4rgent (acoleuthic), Wednesday, 28 April 2010 14:33 (sixteen years ago)
nagl but still <3 him
I quite want Mark "the Jester" Selby to win, because he's the only snooker player with anything approaching O'Sullivan's charisma levels.
― Neil S, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 15:30 (sixteen years ago)
Ronnie - Mark: 11 - 13
― StanM, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 21:06 (sixteen years ago)
selby-carter final would be nice.
― not_goodwin, Wednesday, 28 April 2010 22:11 (sixteen years ago)
Selby got stronger and stronger. Ronnie's shot selection was non-existent at the end. Sometimes it amazes me as to how he has managed to win a hat-trick of world titles.
I think Dott might provide a tougher test but I reckon it'll be Robertson - Selby in the final.
― xyzzzz__, Thursday, 29 April 2010 08:06 (sixteen years ago)
^^^^^yes please
― sausage s4rgent (acoleuthic), Thursday, 29 April 2010 11:47 (sixteen years ago)
I want dott to win
― g.w.f.nagl (cozen), Thursday, 29 April 2010 12:34 (sixteen years ago)
not again! cmon let a flashy first-timer win it
― sausage s4rgent (acoleuthic), Thursday, 29 April 2010 12:34 (sixteen years ago)
Wouldn't mind if Dott won -- great to see him back, and I reckon he is playing better than he has ever done.
― xyzzzz__, Thursday, 29 April 2010 14:10 (sixteen years ago)
given the quality of this second semi so far, robertson is gonna walk this
― sausage s4rgent (acoleuthic), Thursday, 29 April 2010 20:40 (sixteen years ago)
selby to win please
― not_goodwin, Thursday, 29 April 2010 21:22 (sixteen years ago)

hes been the one banging the drum for barry hearn to takeover so he can earn more money.
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 2 May 2010 00:07 (sixteen years ago)
I have somehow avoided watching a single Dott match so far.
― a fucking stove just fell on my foot. (Colonel Poo), Sunday, 2 May 2010 00:12 (sixteen years ago)
Was rooting for Selby tbh.

dott is a local lad (so is higgins i suppose)
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 2 May 2010 00:29 (sixteen years ago)
I enjoyed the last frame of the dott match, some good snooker in that.
graeme dott's 47 break was incredible

A collision of two tough players, each with a remarkable story, will take place today and tomorrow in the final of the world snooker championship.
― the poster below this is an A-voter (cozen), Sunday, 2 May 2010 09:01 (sixteen years ago)
Indeed!
― StanM, Sunday, 2 May 2010 09:03 (sixteen years ago)
Didn't you always say he was boring? Well, now he isn't - just like Tiger Woods.
That 47 break was phenomenal. Exhibition snooker on acid or what? For two of the three frames that he needed to win it was until the 40 break on the final one that had any control of the cue ball for the basic bread-and-butter shots.
Anyone see Robertson's interview yesterday after the game...got all tearful after saying that on what might have been his final go at the sport he arrived in the UK and was down to his last 500 quid.
Can see Robertson leading after the first day but Dott coming back and this being quite close...we'll see.

BBC News breaking news ticker: "Suspended snooker champion John Higgins denies being involved in match-fixing"
― StanM, Sunday, 2 May 2010 14:49 (sixteen years ago)
He said he was scared and just went along with it."I'm 100% guilt free" he said in statement just before snooker started.
― not_goodwin, Sunday, 2 May 2010 15:20 (sixteen years ago)
9-7 will be an amazing feat for dott
― cozen, Sunday, 2 May 2010 21:50 (sixteen years ago)
... and he gets it. What a scrappy affair, this match. Exciting, but let's hope they both get a good night's sleep, eh?
― StanM, Sunday, 2 May 2010 22:40 (sixteen years ago)
Never seen someone looking so exhausted as Dott in that second session.
Here is hoping for more fluidity today.
― xyzzzz__, Monday, 3 May 2010 09:20 (sixteen years ago)
who has the more embarrassing hair here. dott with the plugs or the feathered bondi barnet of robbo?
― Times New Excels At (jim in glasgow), Monday, 3 May 2010 14:23 (sixteen years ago)
are they plugs?
― Michael B, Monday, 3 May 2010 15:35 (sixteen years ago)
At this pace they're not going to have a very long break between the sessions, if there's going to be one at all.
― StanM, Monday, 3 May 2010 16:18 (sixteen years ago)
don't think so.
nice century there by dott.
― Times New Excels At (jim in glasgow), Monday, 3 May 2010 17:10 (sixteen years ago)
not plugs, just thinning hair with gel.
― not_goodwin, Monday, 3 May 2010 17:13 (sixteen years ago)
Er, only 6 frames in this session then?
― StanM, Monday, 3 May 2010 17:20 (sixteen years ago)
Yeah, originally eight frames but last session has to start by 8pm so it can be cut short to allow enough for a break.
― xyzzzz__, Monday, 3 May 2010 17:43 (sixteen years ago)
Ah. Thanks, did not know that.
― StanM, Monday, 3 May 2010 17:44 (sixteen years ago)
Didn't really want these 2 in the final, but if Dott's had a mini siesta, it could be interesting. Will go with bed-head to win though. Whoever wins, will cry i'm guessing?
― not_goodwin, Monday, 3 May 2010 18:56 (sixteen years ago)
Dott's crying already (I know, I know, it's just his face, he can't help it)
