she loves it but i can def see why you would hate it

when i was in 8th gr i went to a new school (my first co-ed institution) and boys used to yell down the hallway "i'm gonna take you by the thighs and make you realize AMANDA" and i was very sensitive and young. it scared me. i realize this is my own situation and it's obviously ancient history but it seems worth mentioning why i don't find it amusing.

I concur. Most of us have done our part to earn the flak we receive 'round these parts, but I'm always baffled when people take aim at Aimless.

sometimes i start reading a post and it has a kind of regular talking plain guy just saying some reasonable stuff tone and i immediately think it's an aimless post and it never disappoints it always is and sometimes this immediate recognition is amusing and sometimes it's annoying bc it makes me feel like i'm being lectured about something i already know. but lots of ppl don't know anything at all about anything so for them it's probably useful material.

like you see sometimes people have different tastes in styles of communication and some people like a more complex idea presented in a more compelling tone and some people like more straight forward homespun wisdom and sometimes people in one group may not understand what the people in the other group are seeing because perspectives are complex and we all see things from our own point of view. a nine to me could look like a six to you. and so it's best to be kind by recognizing our own limitations in seeing another perspective.

there are a lot of different kinds of people in the world, and people are complex, difference exists I remind myself all the time and it helps me to be a compassionate person and less concerned with having right or wrong opinions and beliefs

or whether someone I’m interacting with has right or wrong opinions and beliefs

I'll add my voice to the chorus of Aimless praise.

That said, as a follow-up to what Mordy said, what strikes us as common sense or an attempt at understanding the topic at hand from a reasonable angle may be construed as covert ideology. It goes without saying that I don't believe that to be the case in this instance (or it's an ideology I agree with), but I'm afraid his efforts ultimately did very little to bridge the communication gap, which is somewhat tragic.

I don't think there's a poster on here whose tone doesn't rub me wrong at one time or another, but I'm at the top of that list. The flip side of that is that everybody here who isn't a full-time shithead is capable of warmth, insight and lulz. So just like irl people really.
