Does the Tim & Eric thread discus who Dr. San is IRL?

Gregg & Zac were former roommates & Gregg put out Zac's former band (dieselhed)'s records 25+ years ago.

the full marching band "oscar fever" that starts off the third oscars special had me simultaneously howling and thinking this is the best show i've ever seen
feel like I watch this clip at least twice a day

gregg's performance as klington is excellent
― american bradass (BradNelson), Tuesday, 16 July 2019 21:04 (five years ago) link
even more impressive given he didn't even know he was filming for the show
― frogbs, Tuesday, 16 July 2019 21:17 (five years ago) link
i'm at port of call: hawaii. what a coincidence that kington is a big film buff too

just got to the end of season 10 last night, Tim having to silently eat shit for the last couple episodes is awesome

the decker cinematography was suddenly amazing in episode 13 and i tried to see if anyone mentioned it in the youtube comments and found this
Sarah Odle4 years agoThe cinematography really wowed me in this one! True filmmakers. Peter Jackson would be proud!

Is season 10 the one that’s filmed in VR? That was such a funny idea
― One Eye Open, Wednesday, 17 July 2019 00:15 (five years ago) link
I only just now realized that the last episode of Port of Call Hawaii is Tim's retaliation for Gregg giving away the original ending on On Cinema

the pleasure and the curse of this show is that everything else gets warped through its lens. for some reason i'm reading the Please Please Me review on allmusic, and how can you not read this User Review in gregg's voice:
"What a debut by a group or artist. Stunning smashes like "I Saw Her Standing There", "P.S. I Love You", "Do You Want To Know A Secret". and the closer "Twist And Shout" make this a must have album. Every song is worth hearing. Not too many artists get it right the first time out, but the Beatles did."

Just bore witness last night to Tim's two near-death experiences over the course of season 8. Just when you think things can't go further off the rails.
― Logy Psycho (Old Lunch), Wednesday, 17 July 2019 16:56 (five years ago) link
Y'all should be thankful that Tim's cadence is all you picked up from the show. I'm beginning to fear that this nutritional vaping thing isn't as cool as he made it look.

feel the same way about ayaka but i've only just finished season five. it is v weird and compelling to see these nice people in the middle of the most toxic dynamic i've ever seen
― american bradass (BradNelson), Wednesday, 17 July 2019 17:48 (five years ago) link
although tim and gregg definitely deserve each other
― american bradass (BradNelson), Wednesday, 17 July 2019 17:50 (five years ago) link
I loved loved loved the episode in season 8 when Tim started expressing his sincere appreciation for Gregg and Gregg got suuuuuuper uncomfortable and also could only discuss Tim's suicidal ideation by comparing it to It's a Wonderful Life. It's easy to forget at times that both characters are damaged goods.
― Logy Psycho (Old Lunch), Wednesday, 17 July 2019 18:08 (five years ago) link
sorry i meant i had just finished season six. i watched tim's ant-man review during lunch and holy shit
― american bradass (BradNelson), Wednesday, 17 July 2019 18:12 (five years ago) link
Yeah. That's still probably a top five highlight.
― Logy Psycho (Old Lunch), Wednesday, 17 July 2019 18:12 (five years ago) link
this is the movies, the laws of physics demand at least one bag of popcorn
― american bradass (BradNelson), Wednesday, 17 July 2019 18:14 (five years ago) link
the buildup from peyton reed appearing on the oscars special to that review is really great, comparable to gregg filming multiple "on cinema on location" segments in a row at locations used in oh, god!
― american bradass (BradNelson), Wednesday, 17 July 2019 18:15 (five years ago) link
And then when Gregg's error over the title of the popcorn classic "Breakdown" is pointed out, he doubles down and insists that there were two working titles so either way is perfectly valid.
xps
― Evan, Wednesday, 17 July 2019 18:18 (five years ago) link
I'm coming around to the notion that Gregg sticks with Tim through all of the bullshit purely because only in Tim's company does Gregg come off as relatively normal and functional.
― Logy Psycho (Old Lunch), Wednesday, 17 July 2019 18:22 (five years ago) link
I think its supposed to be because his character is a pathetic dude and it's the only venue that a guy who collects comically mundane VHS tapes can have a platform as a "movie expert"
― Evan, Wednesday, 17 July 2019 18:25 (five years ago) link
mundane movies on VHS* is what I meant

I usually binge this while my gf is out and even though she's seen her share of T+E stuff she still seems baffled when she returns to whatever's happening onscreen. She recently walked in when Tim was discussing what he planned to do with his dead son's life insurance money. Oh, and then last night one of the Purple Boys ads was playing (which y'all should look up if they haven't popped up for you yet).
― Logy Psycho (Old Lunch), Wednesday, 17 July 2019 18:41 (five years ago) link
I'm at season 8 an Old Lunch wasn't kidding, this is off the chain.
"Mah, myaka-uh... my Ayaka is with child, pregnance. Wasn't not planned, but eh, we have that coming up."
