^I never had that mix up, but I did often confuse Fred Willard's real name with that of his Fernwood 2 Night character. As in, "You should see Best in Show if only for Jerry Hubbard's performance. He steals the picture."

None of that stuff ever got shown over here, so he was really not well known at all in the UK. As for Fred Ward, as well as getting his name mixed up with Fred Willard, I get his face mixed up with Robert Forster (the late actor, not the guy from the Go-Betweens).
