zchyrs is a very good poster imo. i always make too many jokes about how our names are (or seem to be) so similar, but it really is kind of bizarre because their background seems to be very similar to my own, down to age and conservative upbringing. it's hard to explain, but the effect is of seeing like an alternate reality version of myself that composes great ilx posts and seems to be doing well and a good person. it's nice! so cheers to you, zchyrs. may the 2020s be the decade of great prosperity for Z's throughout the world

one thing i like about old lunch is that we share a visceral, intuitive understanding of metaphor of someone taking a shit on your dining room table and pretending like everything is normal

some, but not all, of the turmoil of the last 5 years has been the sensation of sitting at that table in the immediate aftermath of what happened, before you even have time to scoot out your chair and stand, and half the table has no problem with the situation at all

just saying, in 100 years, "someone shit at your table" is going to be on the level of "6 in one hand, half a dozen in another" in terms of ubiquity. and it's all because of old lunch

I want to commend harbl for being almost perpetually otm about political and ethical issues. I've definitely questioned my assumptions and kneejerk responses as a result.

i agree. i mean, it was a sad thread to read and sometimes frustrating, but i don't know of any better place to be during such a stressful night.

I'm glad my husband got me off the internet relatively early— we were drunk and high and made weird electronic music from like 8:30-11p, which was bedtime....and I skipped through the thread this morning because of a clusterfuck moment that I wasn't having...

that said, I really do appreciate many of you for keeping things updated and in perspective.

i fell asleep to a four hour documentary about ‘80s horror last night and didn’t look at my phone once, but unfortunately i shot out of bed at 4:30 am and decided to look at good ol ilx

Said it before, but I appreciate Neanderthal both because he talks a lot of sense, but also because I can really relate to his rare moments when the anxiety takes over.

I am very embarrassed about my outburst last night and that is unfortunately what my anxiety does to me. amazed i haven't been beat up more often.
