This was what I expected the last Eric Andre standup to be like (which I never finished, only got about 10 mins in).

you hold up that sign! no more bullshit, that's right, you can do it!
oh sorry, thought that was in the politics thread

My wife lost her mind at that part. Not for any relatable reason- I think it was all in the delivery.
― Evan, Tuesday, 27 October 2020 16:06 (four years ago) link
I saw him do pretty much this exact same set in 2015, except instead of his nag wife wanting to go to the opera, she said she wanted to go see the band Train. So he tells a story about driving to the Ticketmaster (complete with mouth sound effects of a car driving to Ticketmaster) and when he tells the guy there he wants two tickets to Train, the guy says "what do you think this is, Amtrak?"
(someone at adult swim needs to update the redirect for mixmycandles.com to something more recent than Decker vs. Dracula)

I heard this special was actually recorded in 2017? I mean obviously it couldn't have been recent

― OrificeMax (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 27 October 2020 16:27 (four years ago) link
i hate to redpill you here but if you have a keen eye you can actually see him looking at his notes throughout the set. i'd fire the production company for not editing those shots out
― diamonddave85 (diamonddave85), Tuesday, 27 October 2020 16:32 (four years ago) link
...He wouldn't do that to us. This is Tim we're talking about here. His word is gold.
― OrificeMax (Old Lunch), Tuesday, 27 October 2020 16:34 (four years ago) link
it's impossible. Tim says no more bullshit, and that includes reading notes during a set, come on

The show I saw them play as Zip Code Redemption last year was rather delightful and was pretty much all tongue in cheek covers (Back on the Chain Gang, You Oughta Know, and Wake me up before You Go-Go are the ones I nabbed some video of). As an added bonus, Gregg wore a Reese's Pieces T-shirt, which had to be a reference to the immortal Neil Hamburger E.T. joke.
