f,

did you see russ ortiz get rocked but cox left him in to hit and he homered?

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 14 April 2003 22:43 (twenty-one years ago) link

i mean, after he hit the homer, there was a new pitcher at the start of the next inning... crazy stuff... very dusty-ish.

gygax! (gygax!), Monday, 14 April 2003 22:44 (twenty-one years ago) link

I have a man-crush on Shawn Green.

bnw (bnw), Monday, 14 April 2003 22:50 (twenty-one years ago) link

I think I'm jinxing your boy Prior, f - he hasn't looked all that good this game. I apologize in advance.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 14 April 2003 23:27 (twenty-one years ago) link

You trumped my waiver request for Abreu! Grrrrr......

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Monday, 14 April 2003 23:29 (twenty-one years ago) link

COCKFARMING WGN!!!! WHERE IS THE CUBS GAME?

felicity (felicity), Monday, 14 April 2003 23:52 (twenty-one years ago) link

They have a wonderfully distinguished history, the best radio announcer (Vin Scully) a great ballpark, the best uniforms in baseball

B-b-b-but the Giants have those French vanilla things! Endy story!

And wonderfully enough, we have son of Scully, Jon Miller who does a grebt Vin impression and out of all THREE of the Giants topnotch play-by-play guys (well, Joe Angel gets points for sounding like Jon Miller) is the best.

Leee (Leee), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 00:11 (twenty-one years ago) link

Oh, man - Prior's got a case of the fielding yips. He needs to stop taking something off his throws to Karros - announce your presence with authority!

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 00:12 (twenty-one years ago) link

And the yips are contagious - get in front of the ball, Moises!

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 00:13 (twenty-one years ago) link

i've said it before Leee... kuiper and krukow are the cat's pyjamas.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 00:16 (twenty-one years ago) link

Kuip has the loveliest voice out of the bunch -- but, I don't remember why, he sometimes gets on my nerves, like last night when he spazzed out on this flyball to left, made me think it was a homer. Speaking of homers, I <3 Krukow though.

Leee (Leee), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 00:28 (twenty-one years ago) link

gygax!, you're close to Anaheim, aren't you? Can you "take care of" the awful awful awful play-by-play combo Fox Sports hired to mulch Halo games? Rex Hudler makes being a Ninja of the Obvious a worthless occupation.

And what happened to Prior? This is upsetting! I wanted good baseball, and I get Glendon Rusch? Foul!

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 00:36 (twenty-one years ago) link

Arrgh I wanna watch Mark, even if he's sucking! Do none of you understand my pain?

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 01:06 (twenty-one years ago) link

Carl Everett wtf?

James Blount (James Blount), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 01:06 (twenty-one years ago) link

Do we have a stat for wild pitches? Because my boys Prior and Cruz are RULING THAT wooohooo!

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 01:13 (twenty-one years ago) link

gygax!, you're close to Anaheim, aren't you?

relatively close... this weekend i was within 100 miles but right now i'm about 500 miles away.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 04:51 (twenty-one years ago) link

f,

i have someone you should keep an eye on before he gets any HOTTER...

jesse foppert.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 04:58 (twenty-one years ago) link

Damn gygax, you beat me to pimping out Foppert to Felicity.

Leee (Leee), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 05:24 (twenty-one years ago) link

i was 3 rows behind the visitors dugout yo. i'll be in left field tomorrow hanging with BLB.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 05:26 (twenty-one years ago) link

Boffo. But I still haven't been to Pac Bell. Perhaps a Fancy-a-Ballgame is in order?

Leee (Leee), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 05:44 (twenty-one years ago) link

back to the giants, who would have ever thought that 2 weeks into the season that they would be 7 games up on the dodgers and 9 games up on arizona?

that is a very confounding factoid. and with that, i'm going to bed. we'll see tomorrow you on ILX FANTASY BASEBALL 2003 -- PART 2.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 06:57 (twenty-one years ago) link

i mean, arizona only has two more wins then the tigers!

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 07:37 (twenty-one years ago) link

lawrence kansas, I have removed Counsell from your lineup and re-added Ellis Burks. The change couldn't take place until today and won't be reflected until tomorrow.

gygax! (gygax!), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 12:42 (twenty-one years ago) link

thank you, gygax

lawrence kansas (lawrence kansas), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 13:11 (twenty-one years ago) link

gygax!, I accidentally skipped over drafting Vladimir Guererro and I have Torii Hunter in my outfield instead. Could you please remove Hunter from my lineup and replace with Guererro? It's okay if it won't be reflected in my lineup until tomorrow. Thanks.

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 13:38 (twenty-one years ago) link

Russ Ortiz homer? Adorable!

Jon Miller (of ESPN Jon Miller?) does regular Giants games? That's great. I wuv wuv wuv Jon Miller.

OK, here's the thing about the Jints uniforms: The french vanilla is cool but it is very arrogant of them to run around in the home uniforms without the names on the back. That p*sses me off! Sure, I hate the Yankees, but only the Yankees have earned the right to not put their names on their backs. The SAN FRANCISCO Giants are not the Yankees or event he New York Giants, I don't care about what happened at the Polo Grounds or whatever, it's lame.

Now the Dodger uniforms have something XXX-tra special that you can't see on television and you can't even see at a game unless you are super super up close like in kissing range and that is this: You know how the Dodger uniforms are so super bright blue on white and with the super-amazing RED number? (So American and baseball-ly, sigh.) Anyway the CRAZY part is that the super bright effect is enhanced ever so subtly because the STITCHING that attaches the letters, the "Dodgers" and the number to the uniform is NOT matching same-color (e.g. blue or red) but it is WHITE!!!! Contrast top-stitching that's insanity! They are the only team that uses WHITE to stitch the letters and numbers on.

Uniforms are very important. Next installment: Socks, or the Importance of Being Mike Remlinger.

felicity (felicity), Tuesday, 15 April 2003 13:53 (twenty-one years ago) link
