Apparently you could hear on Gregg’s stream during Manuel's tribute segment a couple words of out of character coordination of the show with Tim before Gregg muted his stream.

okay so i'm confused, i have HEI network sub, and there are streams for both tim and greg's i can rewatch.... should I have two screens on the go? And how many minutes before Tim's did greg's start to try to sync them?

or am i overthinking completely and i should just watch them one after the other

I'd say a sync up is essential to the experience. Kinda surprised they haven't added that as an automatic option yet.

Gregg started earlier than Tim with a showing of the Popcorn Classic "The Affairs of Cappy Ricks", but you can try to sync them a few minutes into Gregg at Doc's house, when Gregg and Tim are talking to each other on the phone on air.

yeah it definitely felt like Pastor Lewis & Tim meeting in the afterlife was supposed to be a bigger story, the whole "she didn't want to be here because of you Gregg" thing didn't make much sense to me

Gregg’s stream ostensibly started 14 minutes before Tim’s (but in practice was running a few minutes late, and lagged more as it went on). Try starting them with that split, and you can pause to sync them later if it doesn’t line up right.

one thing I really love about this series is how all the various parts are played by actors from totally different backgrounds with varying levels of acting skill. including a bunch of people you'll never see in a comedy show again. what other show has a cast like this?

the real MVP is joe estevez. his improv skills are underrated. although it's impossible to work out how much is scripted and improv.

I doubt much of anything that they have Estevez do (outside of Decker) is scripted in terms of learning lines, but iirc he's briefed more than the other regulars on the overall plot.

You get the impression, by contrast, Michael Matthews was given basically no prep for this: while his glee and confidence as Laroux in earlier stuff sell the character as created, here it felt like the actor was told nothing, so his own haplessness at improv sold Laroux' out-of-depthness.

during "The LaRoux Report" there's the part where Gregg says "this report has no legal standing" and he goes "yes, it does" and that gets both Gregg and Tim to break so I imagine that line was ad-libbed

agreed though that Joe is the best, he's kind of the perfect companion for both of them - he's appeared in 200 movies but doesn't have anything interesting to say about any of them, and he's good-natured and affable enough to put up with Tim. plus he's enough of a D-lister to genuinely appreciate any kind of show who would want to honor him. he's probably my favorite guest on the show.

Toni is also very good, her character is very recognizable but not something you see represented a lot on screen. very dark humor to the bits where she's like "uh-oh, Tim's mad at me again!" and just heads to the bar (despite possibly being pregnant). only part of that character that doesn't work for me is her son who is way way too good looking to be a pissbottle gamer
