Based on those polls I’m not sure how the parties differ. Both of them prefer their recent leadership. We probably could have surmised this from who they’ve voted for.

Washington (CNN)In the last 24 hours, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has ramped up the pressure on his GOP Senate colleagues to oppose a bill creating a January 6 commission, according to two Republicans familiar with his effort. One of those Republicans told CNN that McConnell has even made the unusual move of asking wavering senators to support filibustering the bill as "a personal favor" to him."No one can understand why Mitch is going to this extreme of asking for a 'personal favor' to kill the commission," said the Republican.
Because he really, really doesn't want this commission, that's why

Trump will always be more popular than Reagan because his ostensible program—as opposed to his actual one—was about pursuing policies his voters would benefit from materially. In 2024 Biden will face some form of “populist” charlatan, not a conservative in the old mold, a type that was never popular. This is why he is pursuing a legitimately robust domestic spending agenda and good for him.

garcetti happened to be chairing the LA metro board and listening to public comment when the news broke:
So the mayor just unmuted and I'm pretty sure he just said he was going to make an announcement after the next or maybe last caller. The next caller then ended their comment with: "See you later Mayor Garcetti, we won't miss you"— Alissa Walker (@awalkerinLA) May 27, 2021

i think that's the situation in carribbean islands and second tier european countries, but ambassador to india or japan is a real job, the kind you give to a guy who was on your VP selection committee and in the running for transportation secretary in the mistaken belief they don't suck. but yeah, rather india than LA from my POV.
