one of my saddest pastimes is following a tiktoker's career arc when one of their videos goes viral and it slowly dawns on them that the tiktok viewing public is only really interested in that one joke/concept/meme and has almost zero interest in the rest of their content. ex:

➡my neighbors keep freaking out because Mumbles looks like she's dead when she's sleeping (9.1M views)
➡Floofington doesn't want to be sheared (21.2K views)
➡Mumbles the carcass strikes again! 👻🐎😜 (5.6M views)
➡Quick lil barnyard tour (3.4K views)
➡answer to @nedraggett "why dont you put a sign on mupples back that says im alive?" (994K views)
➡Support your local family-owned farms (687 views)
➡It's here! Mumbles the Undead Horse MERCH link in bio (102K views)
➡NAUGHTY HORSE CARCASS PT. 3 (648K views)

all these 30+-year-old professionals/hobbyists who realize they aren't cut out for the traditional influencer path and are just hoping that their viral success will boost their profiles within their little niches (farmtok? realestatetok?) — but it rarely plays out that way because they aren't reaching their target demographics, they're reaching dumbass laymen like me who are only in it for 60 seconds of mildly amusing content and maybe a brief follow-up on the original viral tiktok. nothing's more disappointing for an internet content creator than the realization that they've become the curator of a dead meme, but it's hard to keep yourself from beating the dead horse when you still have a slim hope of making it big
