Semi convinced Kris Marshall, Dan Walker and Jake Humphries are the same guy and a particularly loathsome one at that.

Mark G at 8:30 10 Oct 21I actually did see Kris Marshall in our 'local' Tea garden with his fam (mum&dad) a few years ago.

I am increasingly troubled by the radio 2 TV advert where they dress up the presenters as bad family photos, they have gone for retro laffs and ended up making some extremely unfunny, fairly cursed images. Every time I see it, it looks worse.

So I just seen an advert for a Motorhead album, which was very strange cos who does tv adverts for albums in 2021? and the voice guy sounded like Tommy Vance, and I'm like I'm sure Tommy Vance is dead, so I Googled Tommy Vance and yes Tommy Vance has been dead for several years, so somebody has made a TV advert for a Motorhead album and got somebody to do a Tommy Vance impersonation on the voice-over, also now I know Tommy Vance's birth name and it is very funny

I've just noticed that the terrible, sexist, creepily cgi-looking advert for Aunt Bessie's roast potatoes has a "based on a true story" caption at the beginning, lol ffs it's just some voice over lad saying he liked his nan's Sunday dinner
― maybe these baps are legends (Noodle Vague), Saturday, 30 October 2021 23:58 (three years ago)
Yeah, the radio station he joined had pre-recorded idents for the real Tommy Vance who dropped out,so that was the condition of employment for.. him.
― Mark G, Sunday, 31 October 2021 11:37 (three years ago)
belatedly noticed that they've changed up the scenario in the ad for direct prescriptions with the hen picked/useless husband and disapproving wife couple. this time he's mixed up her prescription with that of a mates wife after going for a quick pint on his way from collecting it, the useless fucker. last time he made a mistake whilst distracted by an article about collectable toy tin soldiers or some such idiocy. kinda love him tbh.

new verisure alarms advert! this time the women talk whilst the men stand around gormless.
"yes, it gets dark so early these days"
"we activate it every night, and when we go out"

and should i know the julie-andrews-alike on the m&s advert?
― koogs, Monday, 15 November 2021 13:29 (three years ago)
Don't think so. The Verisure tradition of only two people being allowed (paid?) to talk in an advert continues.

there's a new verisure advert, but it has no qualities worth mentioning.
but watching Big Match Revisited, 80s football, there are pitch side adverts for manhole covers, tyres and tapes (cassettes i guess). and Dickie Dirt's "for PM and Sunday" whatever that means. no car adverts, no airline adverts, nothing that i saw on Everton / Hull City before that.
― koogs, Saturday, 8 January 2022 20:56 (three years ago)
Is this the new Verisure advert where the non-speaking partners (the wives, in this case) are barely seen, I think you see the top of their heads? I think Verisure are slowly moving towards something like Beckett's "Not I", where the screen is taken up by a giant close-up of a mouth endlessly blabbering to itself about household alarm systems.
― I Can't See Gervais In My Mind (Tom D.), Saturday, 8 January 2022 21:01 (three years ago)
the second match has Townsend Thoresen adverts (car ferries) and, yes, airline adverts, if British Caledonian Airways counts. also motor oil, tv hire, Stanley tools, Hoover, and a local car radio place by the looks

If Internet ads count that Audible one about going on a trip to Westeros and visiting the moon drives me up the wall. I resent how well produced it is and I resent the implicit "you can't go anywhere because of the rona, why not stay home and give Bezos some more cash".
