it all depends on how short these ladies are.

StanM, Sunday, 10 October 2021 20:19 (three years ago) link

The combination of the grim fencing and the sheer size makes me think of somewhere like the Moczydล‚o Water Park in Warsaw.

You rather set it up on a plate, ledge xp

ignore the blue line (or something), Monday, 11 October 2021 18:08 (three years ago) link

I guess if you had the time and inclination to look through every single water park in Bosnia (and were lucky enough to start there and not Croatia, Slovenia, or Hungary)!

ledge, Monday, 11 October 2021 18:12 (three years ago) link

It popped up pretty quickly searching "largest outdoor pool bosnia" and yeah I got lucky picking bosnia first but I didn't think it was Croatia

I deliberated over whether to include the shot with the sladoled in, or whether that should have been a 3rd rather than 2nd pic

That park is one popular spot!

the black sedan and the hint of radiator grille at the far right don't scream europe to me

otoh the hatchback and panel van do

micah, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 10:10 (three years ago) link

- sedan: don't know, could be non-european or just something I've not seen much in Belgium
- grille could be an audi
- Renault van, Peugeot hatchback = both French (but that doesn't mean France, obv)

StanM, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 13:15 (three years ago) link

are we on a roof or parking garage? the first structure with the door could be airco and the bigger one maybe the top of an elevator/staircase shaft?

StanM, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 13:21 (three years ago) link

found this article which i'm fairly certain is the storefront: https://www.infomediaire.net/decathlon-ouvre-son-plus-grand-magasin-dafrique-a-casablanca/?fbclid=IwAR0vkbfPfywMIpPes5q81Rla0RX91VxtzEhuW4O75g0-fbQ_sop217NWxmY

gives us the strange glass structure in front

that picture looks like it yes - but is that the new store? Can't seem to find the actual picture/location (it's too new for Google maps I think?)

StanM, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 14:17 (three years ago) link

I think it should have the location below the DECATHLON and I don't think that says Ain Diab or Corniche or Casablanca...

StanM, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 14:18 (three years ago) link

maybe it's a Decathlon stock photo?

StanM, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 16:21 (three years ago) link

Alright - how? It looks like that roof top isn't a parking spot anymore in the latest google aerial photo?

StanM, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 16:27 (three years ago) link

nice!

tomorrow, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 16:28 (three years ago) link

I just went through the list of locations on the Decathlon website. Unfortunately no photos are provided, but I tried to find ones that seemed to be inside malls, judging from the address, and then checked them out on street view. It was hard to find a street view on the roof of that mall in Lyon, but an interior pic showed the skylight from below, so I thought I was on the right track.

StanM, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 16:33 (three years ago) link

Well, at least I learned that there's a sporting goods company called "DECATHLON" today.

Better than "DICK'S" I guess

That brown office building looks pretty decrepit in the original photo but in the Google street view itโ€™s got a logo of a major corporation (I forget what itโ€™s is).

Good work on that one, wasn't sure if it would go off one pic!

Sladoled Umbrella (cherry blossom), Wednesday, 13 October 2021 18:07 (three years ago) link

where did the original pic come from, not google maps then?

StanM, Wednesday, 13 October 2021 19:05 (three years ago) link

Original pic was from google maps but doesn't seem to be there now, or at least I can't find it

I think you mentioned before that there was a photo that wasn't showing up on the map for you but you could still see it when it was a direct link?

Some castle type building with floodlights on the (garages? arched thing to the left) ? Quite a fancy street light, too - is it a whole Disney-inspired street/neighbourhood?

StanM, Friday, 15 October 2021 14:26 (three years ago) link

that GMC limits this to North America where gas is cheaper, I would think

StanM, Friday, 15 October 2021 14:34 (three years ago) link
