Well, my husband and I got it. Minor tickle in the throat, post-nasal drip, a little tired. Fingers crossed it doesn’t get any worse.
We know exactly where we got it, too— two dear friends came for dinner on Saturday (they felt fine but tested neg before coming) and then Sunday night one of them didn’t feel great— Monday morning, positive test. Alas.

the thing finally caught me last week! had a nasty sore throat for a couple days, which gave way to fatigue, headaches, and congestion. the night i tested positive was the only night i had a real fever, with chills. i tested positive last week and i'm still feeling a bit foggy, with fatigue and a feverish feeling, even if the fever isn't showing up on the thermometer. i was hoping to travel to my in-laws this weekend, but the at home i took today came back positive, which means i might still be contagious.
overall, would not recommend getting this thing lol, but i'm doing fine.

woke up with a sore throat and upset stomach, busted out a self-test and... positive. after taking dozens of them over the past year it's surreal to see a positive result! hope everyone is feeling better soon.

I haven't had it yet (that I know of) but I waved at a Q-anon, Trump fan, vaccine refuser neighbor outside the other day and she said, "Don't get too close, we're still getting over a cold. We were fine and then suddenly one day we both got really sick with fevers and cold symptoms. Then we seemed to get better but it keeps coming in waves. Anyway, have a nice day!"

It's so weird, obviously it's not COVID cos that's fake, we can't put our finger on what it is. Maybe 5G?

I’m still a snot bucket, but the cough is subsiding and today was the first day I didn’t have to take a second Tylenol Cold midday to keep it at bay, so it seems to be abating some. I’m still foggy in the brain, which concerns me a bit.

our 2 year old got it. both kids banned from daycare for 5-10 days. (the other one can come back after 5 if he doesn't get it and we can isolate a 2 year old from a 4 year old hahahaha.)
big shout out to the FDA for delaying the meeting to review the moderna under 5s vaccine to "avoid confusion".

thanks! 2/4 of us have it now (me and the youngest). youngest is generally doing pretty well. he wakes up with a fever, we give him tylenol during the day, and he's mostly fine.
i feel like i felt when i got vaccinated, i.e. generally achey, plus a mild cough. no stuffy nose, sense of taste fine. i'm getting paxlovid via being a big lad. (filled out a form at https://www.findcovidcare.com/ and paid $49, didn't even need a telehealth call)
hoping the other two get it tbh so we can visit the uk without risking getting stuck (https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/19/travel/testing-requirement-flying-us-cdc.html). 2/4 of us getting it is no good to me.

glad to hear you got Paxlovid, and thanks for that site. i think we have Test to Treat here but if those run out of supply, that might be our next option for my folks if they ever get it.

test to treat is here too, but i can't really take or leave the kids. telehealth is my best friend.

I live! Tested negative for the first time this morning, day 13. Fever broke on the fifth day, then I lost my sense of taste/smell for about a week but it's mostly back now. There were a scary couple of days where I constantly smelled something akin to rancid peanut butter, which thankfully went away. Still have a little bit of congestion and I get tired if I try to do too much.
Hope y'all see the end of yours soon, caek!

Glad to know. What were the worst symptoms?
― Malevolent Arugula (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 11 June 2022 15:24 (two years ago) link
I’m on day six of what is a very mild Omicron. My symptoms were slight chest tightness the first few days and a really stuffy head where I felt like my nose needed blowing every 10 minutes, but with very little actual snot. Now I can breathe but the tissues are full, and I felt things start to lift yesterday. No fever, no losses of smell or taste, only slight sore throat.

Went on a 10 trip with actual airplane rides for the first time since December 2019, got home late Monday, felt abnormally tired and scratchy throated starting Wednesday night but chalked it up to allergies and jet lag. Felt like garbage Thursday with a headache and exhaustion but tested negative; this morning after sleeping 10 hours I immediately saw the “T” line for the first time in dozens of rapid tests I’ve taken. Kid and wife are currently negative but both had had colds during the trip and never tested positive but they both got boosted last month and I didn’t. Timeline wise I feel like I got it while unmasked for 30 minutes having a beer across from the Prince store in the Minneapolis airport but who knows.
― joygoat, Friday, 24 June 2022 17:43 (two years ago) link
best of luck. hope the wife and kid don't get it but...you know. for us it was super frustrating because a new person would test positive every 4 days. so we had to keep them out of school for 3 weeks
with any luck you'll be feeling better by Monday but Covid seems to have a long tail. I got it last month, it was a full 4 weeks before I felt fully normal again

feel achey and chills. cough was the first symptom. v tired. fever is only 99.5 though.
― horseshoe, Friday, 24 June 2022 19:21 (two years ago) link
Feel better, horseshoe!
My mom and dad got it; I suspect my dad brought it home from work. I narrowly escaped after hanging with them last Sunday. A frustration: he felt symptoms as early as Saturday yet didn't get confirmation until....this morning as he's improving.
Both are vaccinated + single boosted.
― Malevolent Arugula (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 24 June 2022 19:30 (two years ago) link
thank you! I tested last night and was negative but today my symptoms worsened. Also double vaxxed and single boosted
― horseshoe, Friday, 24 June 2022 19:33 (two years ago) link
I got it last week from an airport probably. My experience with omicron was really similar to a lot of my friends: bad flu-like symptoms for 3-4 days and then almost fully better after that. My least favorite symptom was being completely covered in sweat at random points in the day.
― Bongo Jongus, Friday, 24 June 2022 19:33 (two years ago) link

That's what happened to me: started feeling ropey on Sunday but didn't test positive till Tuesday. Felt absolutely dreadful by Thursday, but getting better now.
― Nasty, Brutish & Short, Saturday, 25 June 2022 14:13 (two years ago) link
Mine was: caught Thursday from colleague at work; felt ropey Sunday; tested positive Monday.
I had tight chest, clogged sinuses and tiredness, but not much else - symptoms improved within 2-3 week.
My breeathing's till a bit tight three months later, but I think that's probably not covid, just me being more self-aware of my seasonal allergies.
― Chuck_Tatum, Saturday, 25 June 2022 14:44 (two years ago) link
To add to the anecdata: I had a slightly scratchy throat on Friday, tested TWICE that day because I was going to a thing after work - negative both times; woke up yesterday morning feeling like shit and took another test, negative again; had a long grim trek home and by the time I was finally back I was like nope I’m testing again, my teeth are hot and my blood hurts, it prob could be something else but cmon. This time the test line appeared instantly.
― Wiggum Dorma (wins), Sunday, 26 June 2022 15:59 (two years ago) link
Yeah it was actually shocking to me how quickly and definitively the test line showed up
Turns out my wife found the negative test I took the day noticed a barely visible test line but I don't know how valid the results are after sitting out on the counter all day.
― joygoat, Sunday, 26 June 2022 16:43 (two years ago) link
On the seventh day of Covid, when feeling basically better, I thought I had a negative LFT after 10 minutes of no apparent line but after a turn around the block to empty the dog, I came back to find a T line.

Dad tested negative on a PCR yesterday, and he's been symptom-free for days; Mom tested positive on her PCR, though. Day 10 for her. She was also on molnupiravir five days. Should I visit? Testers said the combo of drug + 10 days means she's likely not infectious.
