BBC WS still occasionally has some decent programs and reports from other parts of the world, but I switch over when they broadcast either NPR shite or news reports on the oh so exciting commercial synergy between Kate Bush and some fucking shite netflix series.

tbf I overheard the Kate Bush segment on BBC World News last night while puttering around, it went on seemingly forever and included an interview with the music supervisor on Stranger Things. I figured it would be a 10-15 second bit and was a little taken aback myself.

Tom D's post makes sense though I am in the UK and don't watch news on TV anymore so don't get the exposure. I think that's a plus for twitter where I get a sense of all the actual crises while keeping fluff like this to a minimum.

Glastonbury.

I have positive thoughts for Glastonbury itself - I just can’t abide the media coverage (newspapers not tv).

TV coverage is unbearable and there's far too much of it.

... not talking about the event itself but the preamble to it.

The TV coverage has been bad since it moved to the BBC from Channel 4.

Slightly interesting that Dave Grohl seems to be much more newsworthy than Bruce Springsteen in the coverage of this world shattering event. Bruce is only mentioned as an afterthought.
