morbs, i considered combining the films but thought better of it due to past vitriolic fights on previous pacino threads regarding the merits of the various episodes. meh.

also the poll is missing gigli for a reason which is that i refuse to acknowledge the existence of that movie.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Sunday, 8 April 2007 17:49 (seventeen years ago) link

it's "dead-tech, post-modernistic house".

wtf does 'dead-tech' even mean?

nb 'GREAT ASS' wins.

OMG that's right -- i'd forgotten that al was in that one ...

Eisbaer, Sunday, 8 April 2007 19:43 (seventeen years ago) link

The best film missing from that list is Looking for Richard, I suspect.

Dr Morbius, Monday, 9 April 2007 16:48 (seventeen years ago) link

ooh yeah that one slipped my mind

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 9 April 2007 16:57 (seventeen years ago) link

lol @ "dead tech"

and what, Monday, 9 April 2007 17:29 (seventeen years ago) link

hmmm, Dick Tracy is the only one I've seen! Dude needs to be in more teen comedies, maybe he could be a mafia teacher in the hood, who has to coach a girls softball team, with hilarious results? I'd see that!

jel --, Monday, 9 April 2007 17:35 (seventeen years ago) link

well, christ, so would i.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Monday, 9 April 2007 17:38 (seventeen years ago) link

ghost rider, Tuesday, 10 April 2007 15:43 (seventeen years ago) link

i kinda like the "frankie and johnny" and "S1m0ne" votes, just out of sheer perversity.

Eisbaer, Tuesday, 10 April 2007 22:42 (seventeen years ago) link

I voted for Any Given Sunday. I love that movie! Heat would be second choice

Dan I., Tuesday, 10 April 2007 23:05 (seventeen years ago) link

Waitwaitwait I just noticed: Revolution ain't on the list. RECOUNT.

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Tuesday, 10 April 2007 23:26 (seventeen years ago) link

why does GF outpace GF2 by such a margin?

wanko ergo sum, Wednesday, 11 April 2007 00:48 (seventeen years ago) link

I rally should have voted for "Scent of a Woman" just to be contrary. ;_;

HI DERE, Wednesday, 11 April 2007 01:53 (seventeen years ago) link

why does GF outpace GF2 by such a margin?

they made a girlfriend 2??

s1ocki, Wednesday, 11 April 2007 02:15 (seventeen years ago) link

I liked the first one better because Michael undergoes a broader transformation. Also, gun-in-toilet scene.

Pleasant Plains, Wednesday, 11 April 2007 02:31 (seventeen years ago) link

:D

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 19 June 2007 18:52 (seventeen years ago) link

He drives me crazy more than half the time, the big scene chewing ham, but he was really quite good in the HBO production of 'Angels in America'. With a well enough written script, he plays a tolerably watchable asshole.

Michael White, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 19:03 (seventeen years ago) link

is this already posted on the thread? i'm too lazy to look. i basically love the fact that his recent stated reason for his shouty overacting is that he did it one time and no one told him to stop acting like an ass, so he just is going to keep doing it until some director finally tells him to reign it in a little. i like that kind of thing, it's like a marlon brando "fuck you i will do what i want" that really doesn't actually make for, like, quality family entertainment always but it's kind of hilarious nonetheless.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 19 June 2007 19:06 (seventeen years ago) link

I'm not sure he ever shouts in Ocean's 13.

milo z, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 19:16 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah, he's pretty restrained

gabbneb, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 19:19 (seventeen years ago) link

I guess Mike Newell told him to can it on Donnie Brasco then (a sterling perf that gets no poll love).

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 19:20 (seventeen years ago) link

guys, i'm just quoting the man, y'all can feel free to take your counterexamples to 1-800-AL-PACINOS-PHONE

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Tuesday, 19 June 2007 19:21 (seventeen years ago) link

and yeah, Angels in America is in his top 5 or 6 for sure. "NOWWWW you can have some pills!"

Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 19:21 (seventeen years ago) link

shit how did i miss this poll. no love for Brasco?

Ste, Thursday, 21 June 2007 09:00 (seventeen years ago) link

Thank fuck no-one voted for "Scent of a Woman"

Tom D., Thursday, 21 June 2007 09:03 (seventeen years ago) link

that would mean the lurker is either blind or misunderstood poll question.

nathalie, Thursday, 21 June 2007 09:11 (seventeen years ago) link

Then again, blind? No way.

nathalie, Thursday, 21 June 2007 09:11 (seventeen years ago) link

wait so this is "name movie Pacino is hottest in?" or just "best pacino movie" ? question ain't clear.
