I solved Redactle Unlimited in 62 guesses with an accuracy of 79.03% and a time of 00:15:45. Play at https://redactle-unlimited.com

Got the first part relatively quickly, but had to cheat to get the years in the title.

um, redactle-unlimited 'daily' is giving me #126, yesterday's

I get some old game for R-Unltd, it won’t load a new game when I ask it too, Original is a black blank page for me as well…

OK duh. 6 guesses. Went for what I thought was the inspired guess of magnetic north first, then atlantic, then antarctic.

Congratulations! You solved Redactle Unlimited in 17 guesses with 76.47% accuracy and a time of 00:19:12!

not a phrase i think I've ever used before

koogs, Saturday, 13 August 2022 06:24 (two years ago) link

oddly i had the opposite problem to all of you by the sounds i got Southern quickly, after Antarctic but i was too land-centric in other guesses. also very confusing use of ° symbol

koogs, Saturday, 13 August 2022 06:27 (two years ago) link

ha, turns out I never tried “Southern” - thought I did, but that was “southernmost”

I like the time function on RU - play for accuracy, play for fewest guesses, play for quickest time.

papal hotwife (milo z), Saturday, 13 August 2022 22:20 (two years ago) link

really I just play to solve, don’t care about any of the metrics

Ancient Celtic Religion

Let's see if I can write this post without it becoming autocorrect soup again: I just found out that you can long touch or right click on a redacted block and RU will pop up an annotation menu that lets you enter in text that will then show up in the body without it counting as a guess (though neither will it reveal that block).

I guess another way of describing that is that it's like the pencil feature of online sudoku.

130: I solved Redactle Unlimited in 115 guesses with an accuracy of 49.57% and a time of 00:37:36.

I really should've looked more closely at the person's name, which would've saved me dozens of guesses as tried every inhabited, non-Australian continent before landing in the Middle East.

Yay! I solved Redactle Unlimited in 26 guesses with an accuracy of 73.08%. Yes, it was clear it was a person, probably a politician (even though that turned out to be a zero-hit guess), from the Arab world. Decided to start from Egypt, which gave me more than enough to work with.

wasn't sure what the 14 letter word was but had the sense of something philosophical or psychological or religious, then I saw what looked like id and ego.

134 in 7. Guessed it was an Italian painter, tintoretto and caravaggio the first two that came to mind. then wasn't sure I'd get his first name but pulled it out of somewhere.

dear confusion the catastrophe waitress (ledge), Thursday, 18 August 2022 18:31 (two years ago) link

got today's in 79, threw myself off because "artist" didn't give me much -- didn't expect "painter" for the primary listed occupation. once i got his last name, i cheated because i couldn't remember his first name and had already guessed a few wrong italian first names

136 - 18/20 in 32 seconds

and absolute dumb luck with the word at 20 - got female, birth and human and thought maybe embryo would get me closer to the correct word

papal hotwife (milo z), Saturday, 20 August 2022 18:03 (two years ago) link

20 guesses in 32 seconds seems astonishingly fast! I got it in 14 and more than a few minutes of thinking time, i wasted a lot of guesses on every five letter ordinal for the fifth word in the first sentence.

137: I solved Redactle Unlimited in 72 guesses with an accuracy of 52.78% and a time of 00:11:35. I think I was pretty fortunate here because I guessed Prince Edward earlier (PEI being the only Canadian island I could name), so I was primed to try other British royals.

I've been getting lazy, cheated on yesterday's after getting island in one and guessing Canada not long after. Then got today's in 18 after setting off at a canter, I think a hole in one would be possible though.
