Stoop Crone (Trayce), Friday, 30 September 2022 03:50 (two years ago) link

Got it by chance after too much sentence-based flailing.

106 guesses, 62.26%

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Friday, 30 September 2022 04:12 (two years ago) link

couldn't get the first word of yesterday's, what was it?

#178: I solved Redactle Unlimited in 4 guesses with an accuracy of 100% and a time of 00:03:53.

too hasty, should've got it in one.

ledge, Saturday, 1 October 2022 16:52 (two years ago) link

Globular, which I had to cheat to get.

I solved today's Redactle (#178) in 28 guesses with an accuracy of 60.71%. Played at https://www.redactle.com/

This one was easy once I happened to get most of the first sentence which really helped.

180: You solved Redactle Unlimited in 114 guesses with 70.18% accuracy and a time of 00:10:43!

Today's had an unfortunate Big Clue in one of the included words! I wouldnt have got it otherwise.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Tuesday, 4 October 2022 03:12 (two years ago) link

What clue was that?

Got it in 20, would never have thought that it was one word.

ledge, Tuesday, 4 October 2022 07:30 (two years ago) link

181: I solved Redactle Unlimited in 26 guesses with an accuracy of 96.15% and a time of 00:04:03. Play at https://redactle-unlimited.com/

Knew from the title that it was probably a monarch, but had to stumble around trying different kings till I focused on the fact that he was King of both Spain and England, which led me to Queen Mary, which led me to Philip II.

Kim Wipers - Youth in America (Leee), Tuesday, 4 October 2022 18:39 (two years ago) link

What clue was that?
Assming we're talking about the same redactle, "blueshift" was in the available text. So I typed "redshift" just assuming it'd be in some sentences, had no earthly clue it was the answer.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Tuesday, 4 October 2022 21:48 (two years ago) link

Sorry the actual answer is in my hidden text there, just a warning.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Tuesday, 4 October 2022 21:50 (two years ago) link

ah, didn't see that at all!

got today's (181) in 5 somehow, guessed ii straight away, then king and france, and my next two stabs in the dark ended up on target.

ledge, Tuesday, 4 October 2022 22:04 (two years ago) link

That was EXACTLY how I did it!

mike t-diva, Tuesday, 4 October 2022 22:53 (two years ago) link

I got that it was a spanish king and II fairly quickly, but fuck do I know bout spanish kings, so I had to cheat and google which one it was :( lol.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Tuesday, 4 October 2022 23:28 (two years ago) link

King Philip Came Over From Great Spain! (AKA the mnemonic for biological taxa.)

Kim Wipers - Youth in America (Leee), Wednesday, 5 October 2022 04:22 (two years ago) link

181: Congratulations! You solved Redactle Unlimited in 3 guesses with 100% accuracy and a time of 00:00:12

One of my best results.

I couldn't get 180 at all - had to cheat. If I have heard that term before I didn't remember it or know what it meant.

Kim Wipers - Youth in America (Leee), Wednesday, 5 October 2022 18:19 (two years ago) link

I have one 182 on my phone and a different 182 on the desktop...

ledge, Wednesday, 5 October 2022 18:32 (two years ago) link

Hm, mine is a two-word answer. Kind of annoyed that the typical animal terms return so few hits, even though I kept circling around it.

Kim Wipers - Youth in America (Leee), Wednesday, 5 October 2022 18:35 (two years ago) link

with unlimited is choose new game and then daily and it would put the q number in the url - i couldn't find a way of playing old games using just the day number

koogs, Wednesday, 5 October 2022 18:50 (two years ago) link

is / i'd

koogs, Wednesday, 5 October 2022 18:51 (two years ago) link

both of mine are the same subject but one is 5,5 and one is 5,5 (14), so i've got the first but not the second ¯\(°_o)/¯

ledge, Wednesday, 5 October 2022 18:56 (two years ago) link

oh the 14 is disambiguation obviously.

ledge, Wednesday, 5 October 2022 18:59 (two years ago) link

Got it in 51, a LOT of flailing after I had the first word and not the second

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 6 October 2022 10:07 (two years ago) link

Trayce, you don't get to call 51 guesses flailing, sez someone who usually takes 100+ to find the answer. ;)

how have y'all worked it out if you never heard of it haha. I have the first 2 words...

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 6 October 2022 20:45 (two years ago) link

OK got it in 38. Ive... sort of heard of it, only by dint of where I live I suppose?

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 6 October 2022 20:51 (two years ago) link

if he can do 1 = one then he can fix the American spellings

koogs, Thursday, 6 October 2022 21:26 (two years ago) link

Ha I'm so used to it in Spelling Bee I defaulted to the american spelling anyway.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 6 October 2022 23:39 (two years ago) link

But yes, i'd like to see this game not count typos/spelling mistakes, or cramming an accidental two worder into one word.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Thursday, 6 October 2022 23:39 (two years ago) link

That'd be pretty difficult since the topics will invariably have names that a typical spellcheck would mark as misspelled.

Kim Wipers - Youth in America (Leee), Friday, 7 October 2022 02:14 (two years ago) link

61 today but cheated, got the second word relatively quickly but could have played until Christmas and not got the first one.

Dan Worsley, Friday, 7 October 2022 16:42 (two years ago) link

Same, I even uncovered the Gravity's Rainbow reference but I couldn't do anything with it.

Kim Wipers - Youth in America (Leee), Friday, 7 October 2022 18:10 (two years ago) link

I've got the first word but can't get the second!

ledge, Saturday, 8 October 2022 11:16 (two years ago) link

got it in 116, awful.

ledge, Saturday, 8 October 2022 11:24 (two years ago) link

I didnt get it, and even cheating/googling took forever. Never heard of it, it feels extremely niche.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Saturday, 8 October 2022 12:46 (two years ago) link

I have heard of it, even thought of the first word seven guesses in after guessing godel, no idea why I didn't enter it.

ledge, Saturday, 8 October 2022 13:04 (two years ago) link

OK so I have worked out WHAT today's thing is in a general sense, but I have no idea what it is called or where it is located, aside from vaguely in "central asia".

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Sunday, 9 October 2022 00:15 (two years ago) link

OK I got it but I had to cheat by googling around the idea.

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Sunday, 9 October 2022 00:36 (two years ago) link

(143 guesses, and the answer was googled, so I cant count this one)

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Sunday, 9 October 2022 00:36 (two years ago) link

yeah that was a fail for me.

ledge, Sunday, 9 October 2022 17:24 (two years ago) link

Mind you it produced some gorgeous looking google results!

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Sunday, 9 October 2022 23:26 (two years ago) link

Hahah aaaaand, another one where I know what the THING is, but not the sub-category. I've tried everything I know!
