similar experience to you, Leee. was able to identify a lot, up and including the cliffs in Scotland, so I knew where to look for my cheating exploit, and even then it wasn’t all that easy.

I got it but also had to cheat, once I knew what general topic it was (I was racking my brain re 8th grade geology haha).

oop sorry I should have hidden that
Cheated by consulting the DK/Smithsonian Rocks & Minerals Handbook that my child got for his birthday last month.
Somehow I feel better about cheating if I can find the answer in a book rather than online.

I thought I'd got lucky when I accidentally typed lime instead of line - that got me to cement but then I foolishly had 70 odd guesses of building terms before the geology penny dropped. got sedimentary rock now, and yup it's cheatin' time.

A lot more inferrable than yesterday! My strategy of trying to uncover words in the first paragraph paid off when I found Notre Dame.

I'm just gonna post here that I have no idea what the ten letter word is, because usually when I do that it then comes to me straight away.
― ledge, Wednesday, 26 October 2022 21:13 (two years ago) link
I got the 2nd half of the answer really quickly and I dont want to cheat to solve but my history knowledge fails me here :(

Eyy got it. I was on the wrong track thinking around the Church.
― Stoop Crone (Trayce), Wednesday, 26 October 2022 23:41 (two years ago) link
75 guesses - prob wouldve got it sooner but luck of the draw on the words I'd worked out I guess.

204: I have the second word but I'm very doubtful that I can get the first.

same. and I failed yesterday's.

OMFG cheated sometimes I hate this game.
― Fartleby the Scrivener (Leee), Thursday, 27 October 2022 18:04 (two years ago) link
The reason I'm so bothered was because I'd already entered small and got a handful of hits, so I didn't think to try "little."

I solved Redactle Unlimited in 111 guesses with an accuracy of 54.05% and a time of 00:36:40.I also cheated a bit after I got the second part. felt sort of vindicated when I saw that it’s also called “——- of Athena”, because I did actually try “of Athens” early on because it rang a bell. it’s also one of the species I know - I even translated its Dutch name into English (that would be ‘stone ——-‘), but unfortunately the names are not related in this case

I solved Redactle Unlimited in 176 guesses with an accuracy of 82.39% and a time of 00:29:27. took me waaaayy too long to get the second word, but I didn’t mind, I just kept firing every word I could think of at it to fill out the text, knowing that it would come to me sooner or later

I got this in 52 with 75% accuracy - there was a giveaway phrase halfway down that made me type "disability" and from there I worked it out reasonably well.

I solved Redactle Unlimited in 35 guesses with an accuracy of 77.14% and a time of 00:33:47.actually took me 12 hours (though i was asleep for 8 of them) to think of the second word, got it when I started typing examples and then thought of bipolar disorder..

Should have worked out todays way faster than I did. 125 guesses, 31.20% accuracy. But I got it without cheating (just a lot of cycling through options once I knew the answer was a kind of [redacted].

so yesterday’s Redactle took me 296 guesses because I only discovered today that had only ever entered POST and MODERNISM as separate prefixes/words, so I thought it couldn’t be *that word*, even though everything pointed toward it

I solved today’s Redactle Unlimited in 135 guesses with an accuracy of 75.56% and a time of 00:25:15.very easy to cut to the chase (there was a big fat clue), but then, which type? I mean, how many can one name, really? there even was a Dutch connection, but it took a geographic location for me to make good use of it, and then the English term was just a bit of a stab in the dark, but it turned out to be a hole in one. fun and games!

breast: what was the big clue? I rarely ever find those because I don't spend much time looking beyond the first paragraph. In today's case, I needed till 218 to even guess ship, but I had Chinese by 14.

I guess it won't or will rarely happen because there are no or few such articles in the top 1000 or whatever, but one on a book or film would be good - obvious structure (plot, cast/characters, production, reception), fun trying to get it from the plot.

didn't get yesterday's despite getting the first two words straight away. it's obvious now I've seen it. and got today's in 9 despite seeing a huge clue which could have made it a oner.

LOL todays had me stumped and I hit on the answer quite by accident after flailing around guessing German things and getting confused by mentions of Kraftwerk and Neu! but also a bunch of unrelated stuff. This may be enough of a clue for some people to figure it out so click with caution.
