Aw cheers mates

Shitty life stuff meant I didn’t keep up with it this year & had to do half of advent in one go (coincidentally I did the same with my chocolate advent calendar)

Definitely, ufo is really smart and underrated in general imo

And a baby!

one month passes...

not that it means anything coming from me, but i think Evan and Andy the Grasshopper are two of the most consistently hilarious ilxors. underrated.

But who are we doing it versus? (sunny successor), Monday, 27 March 2023 21:38 (one year ago) link

four months pass...

I like searching threads and seeing posts from ILXors from 2003 who I also see posting in the here and now. Mark S, noodle vague, Scott Seward, Raymond Cummings, Josh in Chicago, james redd, enbb, daniel_rf, trayce…. The list goes on and on sorry not going to name it all. It’s really something to have an internet space with this kind of longevity in the community, and as a silly young trotter myself, this place makes aging seem fun (yeah I know it’s probably not). This website is unique and I love seeing all your names fly off with takes and take downs. Lord knows I’ll be happy if I can keep anything going consistently in my life as long as some of you have been ilxors. Thanks for the lifetime of posts you’ve left to some of us

Rob is always smart and level headed af

Have grown to appreciate Steve Shasta

ftr all of my posts until like 2009 are bad and should feel bad, my initial run in with ILX was classic "kid who's used to thinking of himself as the smartest guy in the room is faced with reality" stuff

I do endorse the sentiment tho, what I particularly like is that whenever I get into a genre or rediscover an old artist I can search ILX and will almost always find a thread of heads breaking down the career trajectory and best releases.

Also, I first got here in late 2004 and only later became JR&tB but I appreciate being included in such august company.

Live and Left Eye (James Redd and the Blecchs), Friday, 28 July 2023 14:16 (one year ago) link

wait who were you before that nick? JR&tB is such an iconic dn for ilx that it's hard to believe you were something else previously!

linoleum gallagher (Neanderthal), Friday, 28 July 2023 14:23 (one year ago) link

yeah, I can't imagine James behind another name.

the dreaded dependent claus (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Friday, 28 July 2023 14:23 (one year ago) link

Wait, is JR&tB a nick? I was inactive for a few years but I thought he was the poster previously known as k/l lolol

Jaq, Friday, 28 July 2023 16:47 (one year ago) link

think he meant nickname

budo jeru, Friday, 28 July 2023 16:51 (one year ago) link

In the Beforetimes I was a troll known as Ricardo.

Live and Left Eye (James Redd and the Blecchs), Friday, 28 July 2023 17:18 (one year ago) link

James Redd's commitment to regularly changing his screen name is impressive

Moritz von Oswald von Wolkenstein (Boring, Maryland), Friday, 28 July 2023 22:51 (one year ago) link

I used to change mine all the time, but Stoop Crone feels like me yanno?

Stoop Crone (Trayce), Friday, 28 July 2023 23:49 (one year ago) link

Thanks, but commitment is not quite the word for it. A more appropriate word would be, would be....hmm.

It's a very cool post from H.P. there to start off the revive but I admit I'm a little verklempt I wasn't among those directly named. :-D (This says more about me than H.P.)

Ned, been missing you on some other threads: Argentine Rock, Soda Stereo, karaoke set list. Did you stop reading every thread ever at some point?

Poor Little Fool Killer (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 30 July 2023 00:11 (one year ago) link

I had to! The volume got too great years back.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 30 July 2023 00:46 (one year ago) link

Still, you had a very good run.

Poor Little Fool Killer (James Redd and the Blecchs), Sunday, 30 July 2023 00:52 (one year ago) link

Sorry Ned, you’re so ubiquitous to ILX that I didn’t even think to mention you. You’re like the elder statesmen of this place, feels wrong to place you in the realm of mere posters like the rest of us

hrep (H.P), Sunday, 30 July 2023 01:10 (one year ago) link

Hahah too kind. As long as DJP's posting here too it's not like I'm alone from the actual first day.

Ned Raggett, Sunday, 30 July 2023 01:11 (one year ago) link

Did you two debut on the same day? I remember I used to think of you guys as The Two Imaginary Boys.

one of the more minor things i appreciate about the great-hearted and frequently otm poster calzino is his use of simple quotation marks where most of us apply bb code.

uh, yeah, 100%. it means the exact same thing and sooooo much easier 🤦‍♂️

three weeks pass...

Just saw HP's post. I think I first posted in 2006. I can't really think about how long ago that was because it fucks with my brain. Anyway, that was a sweet post. :)

Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Wednesday, 23 August 2023 15:45 (one year ago) link

Wait - it's 20 years ago in 3 years. Fuck.

Benson and the Jets (ENBB), Wednesday, 23 August 2023 15:45 (one year ago) link

the table is the table is a good table. i know we've bumped heads a few times in various threads, but i appreciate table's persistence in sticking with their point and often bringing up points i might not have considered, even if i don't always agree with them. anyway, just appreciating someone that doesn't just take drive-by swipes at other posters and seems genuinely interesting in a conversation.

Co-sign jimbeux. It’s hard to get away with comedic aloof detachment around these parts, but somehow darrghmac walks that tightrope like a pro
