LOL ledge I'm happy with MY guesswork! I can recognize (if not read) East Asian scripts and was pretty sure that the unredacted characters belonged to some ancient Near East script, in which case I was afraid I'd be SOL because I only know of a handful of non-Abrahamic deities. Thankfully I tried out Egypt, which was a much easier row to hoe.

btw - and I’m not sure whether I should hide this or not, but I will (it’s just a warning tho, there’s no clues or spoilers in there): the first paragraph of today’s puzzle is a scrambled mess - compare here with the actual Wikipedia entry

I mean that it looked well-formatted and not scrambled or mangled. It did show three unredacted characters in the parentheses in the intro sentence, which was a hint in itself.

it runs some sentences from right to left instead of left to right - but when I wanted to c+p it here to show you what it looks like on my iPhone, it was back in regular order lol.
