Wifey KILLS me. This is probably b/c the overwhelming majority of people who refer to my wife as my "wifey" are bitter single people and its used with more than a hint of derision.

Wifey was the title of the dirty Judy Blume book, so it at least has that going for it.
Hubby is awful. When my brother in law was still married, his wife would call him hubby and it was just the most irritating thing in the world.

"What's any self-respecting musician to do after getting run down and then backed over by the world? Well, make the bar-floor-view, drive-to-nowhere "outlaw country" homage to Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash best fit to soundtrack an empty bottle of Jack Daniels. And so this is what Wand, aka James Jackson Toth and Wooden Wand and the Vanishing Voice, did with this past spring's Born Bad, after getting dumped by band, wife, and manager on a 2008 tour."

Ugggghhhhhhhhhh hubby is the worst. What is it w/some women on the internet? Hate DH/DD/DC/etc too. Didn't help that Jean Teasdale introduced me to women exclusively using the word 'hubby' for husband.
'Wifey' feels really anachronistic...also I wrote a poem abt the time I read Wifey by Judy Blume, which is probably my favorite poem I've ever written.
