Maybe it's short for Hubba.

"My mother is horrified that we aren’t going to circumsize. She thinks our son will be made fun of in the locker room, and that he isn’t going to look like DH.. well, I’ve got news for her - kids will always find something to make fun of and I seriously doubt the state of his foreskin is going to be the reason (and honestly, 90% of my friends with boys have NOT circumsized so he’ll be in good company).. and as far as LOOKING like his dad, well DH has 36 years of a head start in the growth and development department - he isn’t going to look like him anyway! lol"

I'm a gentile, and I don't think anyone in my gentile family was terribly concerned with a son's penis resembling that of his father.

"I LOVE our big lug o’ mush ball Cooper…I mean I am completely in LOVE with him…

Last night he tackled DH and was licking him all over… it was so cute to see my 6 ft DH in a fit of giggles while Cooper was licking him all over, waggin’ that nub of his…

When I use the bathroom, I close the door… then I hear… ‘scratch… scratch at the door… ”I’ll be out in a minute Coops!!”"

free jazz and mumia (sarahel), Monday, 3 August 2009 21:24 (fifteen years ago) link

darling husband just as this air of... smug sarcasm to it, and to be used so casually! these people are the most disgusting savages etc

ian, Monday, 3 August 2009 21:25 (fifteen years ago) link

I think many fathers have a desire for their sons penises to be the kind they're most familiar with, just ... because

nabisco, Monday, 3 August 2009 21:25 (fifteen years ago) link

nd as far as LOOKING like his dad, well DH has 36 years of a head start in the growth and development department - he isn’t going to look like him anyway! lol

This gives me such fear.

a muttering inbred (called) (not named) (Abbott), Monday, 3 August 2009 21:26 (fifteen years ago) link

we have friends who call each other "darling" and it is simultaneously genuine and sarcastic, ie they realize everyone else thinks it's insufferable and delight in inflicting it on us

pon de floor (HI DERE), Monday, 3 August 2009 21:26 (fifteen years ago) link

yeah I think for a mother that woman is missing something about penises

ETA: DH wants to know if applesauce is sugary enough that I can can it without a pressure cancer.

Award for gross comment with the most alphabet soup in it:

You know as an ‘interesting’ aside to this - and in the TMI for me b/c it was a family member - my Dh has a BIL who gets Viagra through the VA— but he is only allowed 4 pills a month!! (I guess the gov’t is dictating how much sex some people can have —or at least the chemically assisted errections!)

The people who usually use DH/etc. are the ones that use lol as punctuation.

It's weird that hubby is so firmly attached to the very specific Hummel/Beanie Baby/fibromyalgia Jean Teasdale demographic. What makes the word so appealing to these ladies?

I'm a foodie - I think this is a great concept and have other suggestions

I'm a foodie. My hubby is a foodie.

He has more tolerance than I do for processed foods (don't stand between him and his Little Debbies). I can't bear most processed foods/mixes so we make most of our meals out of basic ingredients.
